Learn How to Dance Cuban Salsa (for beginners or never-danced-before)

Cuban Salsa is one of the greatest dances in the world (in my opinion). It's fun, it's creative and can be mixed with other styles and in various ways. You can dance alone and develop your personal style, in a couple and in a circle (called "rueda").
This class would give you the basics of the Cuban style, which are different from other types of Salsa dances. I put much emphasis on basic steps and movement because my experience taught me that a strong foundation of the basics is a key to advance and feel comfortable while dancing. How to follow and lead are important things to learn in this style (if you with to dance with someone else), and when learned thoroughly can help to develop in other styles as well.

Extra information

Flat shoes are best for this style; sneakers or flats, depend on the type of floor you're dancing on.

About Me

Hello, I'm Dori. Originally from Israel I've traveled the world for a couple of years until settling in Spain two years ago. I've had various jobs in a few countries, which helped me improve my English and Spanish.
In my free time I like to cook and dance Latin dances such as Cuban salsa, Cuban son and bachata.

Dori is super nice and very helpful. The lessons she gives are perfectly aligned with my needs and current Hebrew level. Absolute recommendation!
As a native Hebrew speaker, I can help you by speaking with you and pointing out the best way to communicate in this language. Sometimes what we learn in official classes doesn't match reality, and I believe that learning from native speakers is the best way to assimilate ourselves in a new language. Thus, my classes would include day-to-day common phrases and would focus on the correct yet simple way to express yourselves in Hebrew. If you're starting from scratch then we will go over the Alef-Beit, get familiar with the sound of the words and slowly build up a conversational vocabulary and reading and writing abilities, all depends on your interests. Already know the basics of Hebrew? Awesome! let's go deeper and learn the grammar so that we can read and understand modern Hebrew news, or practice our conversation skills by talking about what we find interesting.

Oriental dance, online course! Fight the gloomy environment and boost your immune system by dancing from your home!
Fight the ambient gloom and boost your immune system by dancing from your home! This course is for people of all skill levels. It invites you to discover and deepen the basics of oriental dance in a warm and playful atmosphere. You will learn to execute the undulations, accents and vibrations characteristic of this dance, before integrating them into choreographies. Oriental dance is a dance of Egyptian origin, which includes many styles. Originally, it was a spontaneous and improvised dance, but today it is taught academically all over the world. It is traditionally practiced by women, who express by this art their femininity, their vitality, but also their feelings, joys and sorrows. In general, this dance is characterized by the dissociation of the parts of the body (isolations) that can move independently of one another. Oriental dance is as good with jerky rhythms as slow and fluid. Bellydance is not limited to movements of the pelvis: it solicits flexibility and tonicity of the bust, shoulders, arms, hands, pelvis and belly. It helps tone the thighs, relax the joints, develop the abdominals and maintain the back. Most of the work resides in the muscular contraction, this dance can be practiced at any age, in the respect of the limits of each dancer or dancer. The course begins with a joint and muscle warm-up, followed by technical work. The basic movements are then integrated into sequences that allow you to move in space and experience the pleasure of dancing, before ending with a session of relaxation.

Dance Classes from Professional contemporary dancer
Having experienced first-hand the power of dance to shape people’s perspectives, I am enthusiastic about using my professional experiences, skills, and beliefs to educate new young dancers in the techniques, movements, and experiences of dance. I am also just as enthusiastic to share that beauty and power with the community, with recreational adult classes as well. About how I teach, and why I started; I was looking for dance that was fun, liberating, and yet artistically challenging, all at the same time; I craved something that brought and demanded a more humane experience inside of the studio. My interest at the moment is to use our human experiences and bodies as they are. I’m not so interested in trying to force them into something else, but to allow that freedom to take us to whatever imaginary or fantastical place where dance should be able to take us. I believe my obligation as a dance teacher is to encourage students to have fun when dancing. It’s something that’s forgotten a lot as a budding artist, but one of the most important things for perseverance in this field. I believe that if the curiosity, imagination, and enjoyment is there, the technique will come as well because there’s a mutual belief, from both the teacher and student, in oneself. Of course to learn a variety of dance styles, be technically proficient, and pursue a personal creative expression is important, but having an experience with a group of people and letting go into imagination while allowing yourself to have fun will push a dancer even further in their artistry, I believe. To be able to be given images, sensations, feelings, etc. and have the awareness to translate them into some form of movement is an important skill as an artist and human being

Dance: Commercial, Hip-Hop, Street Dance, Contemporary/Modern, and Ballet
Dance teaches the importance of movement and fitness in a variety of ways through a variety of disciplines. As well, dancers learn to coordinate muscles to move through proper positions. Dancing is a great activity to pursue at almost any age provided you are in proper health to handle the rigors of dancing for life. Creative thinking skills are developed through dance, as well as learning the value of discipline, commitment and work ethic. Self-confidence develops as young people overcome challenges to master new goals, learning to apply themselves and accomplish any task put before them. Dance teaches people about music, rhythm and beat. Students also have a better understanding of spatial relationships and learn to think with both sides of their brain. All these skills enhance a person's academic performance, as well as their physical well-being.

Stretching Circus - learn the balancing act! Private lessons & more
Do you want to learn the balancing act, do you need more flexibility for your sport or do you want to become more flexible in general? Did your sports club's standard stretching methods and YouTube videos not help? Unlike children, most adults find it much more difficult to improve their mobility. Therefore, they must proceed with particularly sophisticated techniques and with caution, because nothing throws back further than an injury. I use a combination of different methods that combine stretching with training: My exercises stretch and strengthen the muscles at the same time and thus have a positive effect on the central nervous system, which in turn controls the stretching. Therefore this course is very exhausting! ● Breathing and relaxation techniques ● Fascia training and nerve mobilization for improved signal transmission -> nervous system ● alternating tension and relaxation of the muscle or its agonist ● Strengthening the muscle in the stretched state and at the same time improving balance (loaded progressive stretching) ● Using lever techniques to create more room for deeper stretching; isolated stretching of individual muscles (kinesiological stretching) With the classic approach, you passively wait in the respective position until you automatically dive deeper into the stretch due to muscle fatigue. The muscle is not sufficiently activated, so the nervous system is not affected to the same extent and progress is significantly slower. If you want to move faster and are not afraid of a little exertion, you should definitely try this method! About me: I'm inherently inflexible and I started stretching when I was over 20 to become a professional artist. Therefore, I know the difficulties from my own experience, have dealt intensively with stretching and keep myself constantly up to date. Private lessons at your home, at work or on Skype! Can also be combined with training plans on request.
