About Me

Hello,

My name is Jason, I'm a native (UK) English teacher and live in the Netherlands. I strongly believe that students perform best when they are relaxed. Therefore, I create an atmosphere in which you feel comfortable enough to play with the language, make mistakes, have fun and learn.
You are placed at the center of every lesson and my lessons are tailor-made to your needs, meaning that what we focus on in class can be used directly after the lesson. Working together, we decide on your objectives and then focus on making concrete progress in those areas. The lessons are 100% flexible and the course content and objectives can be reviewed, and changed if desired, at any time.
I firmly believe that although grammar is important, it should not be the focal point of every lesson and that improving your vocabulary and combinations of words is the real secret behind becoming proficient in a language.
I speak several languages myself (Dutch, French, Spanish & Portuguese and I believe it's this experience of being a language student that makes me your ideal teacher as I know what it's like being a student and also what makes a great teacher :)

I have a BA (Hons) degree in French and Spanish that was studied part-time and online with the Open University. I also have a Cambridge CELTA and DELTA certificate.
