I am a full-time professional Chess Instructor with over 7 years of coaching experience, having trained 600+ students across India and internationally, including the USA, UK, Singapore, Australia, and the Middle East.

My journey in chess includes active participation at district, state, and inter-school levels, which helps me bring both practical playing experience and structured teaching into my classes. As a coach, my focus is not only on improving a student’s chess strength but also on developing confidence, discipline, logical thinking, and the ability to handle pressure.

I follow a concept-based and student-centric teaching approach, adapting lessons to each child’s learning pace. Many of my students have achieved significant rating improvements and secured top positions in school, district, state, and international tournaments.

My name is Daniil, and chess has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old. Passionate about this fascinating game since childhood, I've played hundreds of competitions and won dozens of youth and adult tournaments.
For the past 10 years, I have been sharing my passion for chess as a teacher in various settings: clubs, primary schools, secondary schools, private lessons, and associations. I also teach in English and Russian.
Furthermore, I graduated from the Sorbonne with a Masters in international strategy and business intelligence.

● Progress in chess can be long and winding. And without a coach's guidance, bad decisions and the habit of "bad reflexes" become a drag that so many players have known.
That's why when you want to ensure long-term progress, taking the advice of an experienced player will cut you short from others, and encourage you to keep going.

● The goal of the first session together will be to determine with you what is best suited to work. An assessment of your strengths and weaknesses will therefore be made to allow yourself to plan a work program in the short and medium term. ➜ For the technical aspect, I use Skype to communicate, as well as the Lichess or chesscom interface (two completely free interfaces mainly intended for playing chess online) to share an analysis chessboard. It's very easy to use, and super practical!

MY JOURNEY

Now 29 years old, I had a fairly classic chess apprenticeship with my father at the age of 7. Showing more skill and interest there than judo and tailoring, I pushed open a club door, and it never closed.

I progressed throughout my youth, helped by successive coaches, International Masters or Grand Masters, until I became so in turn

Chess coach for over 10 years. I decided to professionalize myself at the age of 24, once my studies were finished and my title of Grand Master reached.
I am also coach of the young French teams, and preparer of the adult French team for several years.

Also a writer, I have published two opening books (The Modernized Reti, and The Modernized Dutch, at Thinker's Publishing).

Despite my player soul which means that I will never stop, teaching has taken precedence over my practice of chess, and it is a choice that I do not really regret, as the progress of my students can be a source of pleasure and satisfaction.

Chess is a fun game that starts with the basic rules and moves through the 3 parts of the game: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame.

The focus at first is to teach you how the pieces move, what the goal of the opening is, and how the pieces interact. You will also learn the vocabulary related to chess and chess notation.

Tactics are then explored to take advantage of hanging pieces, lack of king safety, space, and tempo. From here depending on what your personal goals are we will adapt the classes to cover what will help you progress.
