German tutoring by a native speaker

Hello everyone and welcome to my English and or German lessons taught in group. I organise English and German lessons for children and teenagers and separately adult English group lessons (beginners to advanced). For children and teenagers, interactive activities are used as a way to motivate them, help them remember what they have learned in class and make sure they will be able to apply their language skills in real life context. For the adults lessons, depending on what the students are willing to learn, we can have discussions based on the news, some grammar, writing... I am open to any suggestions, just tell me your needs and I am going to adapt the next lessons for you. If you wish to invite your friends and make a group with them, just let me know and I will allocate you a time slot. For private English lessons, please have a look at my other advertisements. The German lessons are usually for beginners/ intermediate (exceptionally advanced levels in German can be organised only if there is a high-demand). Bilingual and passionate about German culture, I have been offering private lessons in German for beginners and intermediate levels for 8 years. I am bilingual, have a Franco-German baccalaureate, and have lived in Germany for 4 years. I also did a preparatory literary class and therefore studied German literature and culture. The construction of my courses adapts to the learning methods of each student. I am methodical, patient, listening to the student, always in a good mood! I like to do rigorous work with grammar and conjugation. But I also like to introduce German culture (music, films, series, history...) and plan times for conversations.

German and French are two particularly useful languages today, with Germany as the leading European power, followed closely by France. Knowing how to speak and write German and French can be a significant advantage in the world of work! English is obviously a 'must' too, and although it is taught in schools, some courses leave something to be desired ... Perfectly bilingual in French and German, and C1 level (TOEFL certified) in English, I offer beginner to intermediate level courses for your children.

The class focuses mainly on Grammar, Writing and Communication Skills. At the beginning of each class we will go through Grammatical exercises and finish with a discussion. In order to make progress each student will have to write an essay for homework. (Length depends on the level) Due to my experience with international students and I can easily adapt the class to your needs. You tell me your weaknesses and we will work on that.

As a student of international law, born of a Berber culture and having Kabyle as her mother tongue, I have developed a love for foreign languages ​​since my childhood. I wish to transmit my knowledge and my love for these three languages ​​mainly: French, English and German.

Student at EMLYON Business School, I give courses in Mathematics, German and English for 2 years in Lyon. I have a Bac S mention TB, German European section and mathematics option. I did two years of preparation at Lycée Sainte-Marie, Lyon, and I come back from a six-month internship in Berlin.

I offer you a German course that is not like the others. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you travel back and forth by train every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Memorise the timetable. 2) Realise that the train comes every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in textbooks and in normal lessons, the first approach is used - in the course I am offering you, it is the second approach because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both pupils and adults who want to learn the German language without time-consuming detours through the madness of fruitless school methods. Learning is easy, but unlearning things that have become bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, with my customised lessons you will greatly accelerate the learning process while having a positive attitude. I offer German lessons for individuals or groups (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive science and historical linguistics in particular. My modular programme can be adapted on a case-by-case basis. The converging point of these modules is your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life. What will not be covered in the course: learning lists of verbs; learning lists of nouns with articles; learning words with their translations; flashcards; doing school exercises; following the syllabus of a booklet; imposing the English grammar on the German language. What is particularly important to me: to motivate my student and to give him a learning rhythm; to encourage his creativity; to befriend him with the language; the letters and their sounds; to strengthen the memory by training the phonological loop; to teach blueprints instead of memorising sentences; to explain how the language works in order to make my student independent as quickly as possible; to eliminate common preconceptions, such as that 'der' would mean masculine and 'die' feminine, that the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, that verbs would be irregular, that declension would be random and therefore would have to be learnt with each verb...; to put practice at the centre and only deal with grammar where necessary. A first lesson will give you a sound idea of my pedagogy.

University graduate in German language and literature (Master of Letters in German with specialization in medieval languages and literature) with a solid experience, gives private German lessons for all levels. My lessons are adapted according to the needs of the student. They aim to consolidate concepts, fill gaps, prepare for exams (maturity, compulsory school leaving certificates, entrance exams to gymnasiums and universities, Goethe Zertifikat up to B2). For conversation classes: The topics are based on interests and/or specific needs for exam preparation. I attach particular importance to pronunciation, fluency and vocabulary. I usually correct at the end of a conversation exercise with detailed feedback, in order to avoid any blockages and to work on fluency. Depending on the level of the students and/or their expectations (exam preparations/assessments/desire for improvement for example), I work on the choice of appropriate words, grammatical accuracy, the ability to formulate more or less complex sentences. For exam preparations: The courses offer to acquire solid tools to learn to write, to comment on literary texts and a methodology to work on oral comprehension. The student must bring their own exam preparation brochure, available in all bookstores. For Goethe Institute model exams, the exam books from Cornlesen are particularly suitable. The other alternative would be to download and print before the start of the course a copy of the Goethe Institute exam available on the institute's website. For the oral comprehension: Work from audio-visual viewings downloaded from the Deutsche Welle site, which offer various recordings adapted to all levels, with a very concrete approach. In the long term, the student acquires ease not only in oral comprehension, but also enriches his basic vocabulary through exercises. I also work on the Goethe Institut oral tests to familiarize myself with speaking. For the work of the written expression: I begin by explaining in the first lesson some methodological tools to acquire writing skills. The student has the opportunity to start writing during the course or do a writing exercise on duty and give it to me to correct (send by email or at the beginning of the next lesson). The corrections are explained in detail. In addition, at the time of booking, the student can send me a draft copy before the lesson so that I can meet his needs even more quickly. Apart from my presence with the student, every lesson involves preparation time before and after the lesson, particularly for the work that I correct. My goal being to design an individualized course, I take the time necessary to write detailed comments on corrected work or advice to ensure maximum success for everyone. With this course I will help you to improve your speaking and communication skills in German as a foreign language. Most language courses in Europe focus on the CEF and speaking is just one out of 4 or 5 skills. In group lessons participants usually don't have enough time to practise speaking. As you usually need good speaking skills for your daily life in Germany or at work, we will work on your communication skills. From CEF A1.2 to CEF C2, I will adapt all topics to your level.

I offer repetitive courses in German and English, according to your school program or simply out of a desire to develop in these languages. Having obtained my gymnasium maturity certificate in June 2020, I have an intermediate level B1 in these two languages with a small advance on English. I have vocabulary in both languages very favorable for improvement in the language we work.
