I am a cello teacher so If you are looking for cello lessons in Luzern, I would be glad to meet you.
It doesn’t matter if you are starting to learn the cello or if you never played it. Music can be fun to learn and explore and I would love to show you that during my lessons.

I am fluent in German, Portuguese, Spanish and English.

The lessons can have the duration of 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 mins. They can also be online, at my location or at the students location. According to each person needs and preferences.

The main goal of these lessons will be to help you reach your expectations as a cello player and as a musician, either you want to delve into improvisation, methodology or just prepare for an exam I do my best to adapt my lessons to your needs. Also along the way I hope I can help you discover new works or music genres and also help you understand musical notation.

The most important part is that you improve and learn how to express yourself through music regularly and have fun with that knowledge.
My lessons and teachings are never the same. I don’t follow just a method or a “Cello Schule”. I insert a lot of different subjects, games and improvisation during lessons to make them more creative and fun.

Every student has their individual needs and my teaching focuses on that. In the end I just want you to feel good playing the cello, develop your ear, sense of rhythm and find a way to combine your daily life with music learning in a creative way!

Informations supplémentaires

To learn to play the cello, you will need your own instrument and bow. If you still don't have it I can help you finding one.
I sometimes have to miss the class for concert out of Luzern or an eventual rehearsal but I always warn in advance.

I’m Pirii and I am 26 years old and I was born in Almada, Portugal.
Do you want to know a bit about me? Here is a short description :)
I’ve started my musical studies at the age of 6 at the Artistic School of Music at the National Conservatory of Lisbon.
As a complement to the study of music, I was part of the Children and Youth choir at the University of Lisbon, where I had the opportunity to participate in several tours and choir contests in Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Additionally, I practiced classical and contemporary dance.
Since 2013 I had been part of a young theater group and since 2015 a band that won the National Band Contest in 2015.
In my cello career I participated in masterclasses with several cellists such as Bruno Borralinho, Xavier Gagnepain, Gabriel Schwabe, Carlos Leal Cardin, Michel Strauss, Harriet Krigh, and obtained classes with Luís Sá Pessoa, Catherine Strynckx, Levon Mouradian, Filipe Quaresma and Jed Barahal.
In 2015 and 2017 I played at the Young Portuguese Orchestra, with which she had the privilege to play at the Young Euro Classic at the Berliner Konzerthaus.
I’m passionate about music, playing in chamber music, art and teaching.
In the chamber music contest I won several prizes such as “Concurso Vila Verde” and “Jovem.com”, and give regularly concerts with my chamber music group “ Ono Trio “ (cello trio) and Duo_Tus.

Composing music is very similar to writing novels. Of course there are "novels" and Novels...and the secret to create expressive, compelling, and successful ones is the ability to write with emotions, tension, and conflict.
With music is exactly the same, and in order to to so, musicians needs to have "at arm's distance" all the tools and knowledge that will allow them "to sculpture the air in the performance into something" (F. Zappa)
As a musician, have you ever wondered:
what if I replace this A min. chord with an E min. 7 ?
is it better to stay "Tonal" or go "Modal" on this measure?
what if I establish a stronger emotional response by changing this scale fragment into a Phrygian?
shall I drive more of a rhythmic feeling by leveraging quartal harmony?
what chords could I actually ask the guys from my band to add to this measures so that my solo would sound more interesting?
how can I phrase this better to that my songwriting drives a more melodic and fluid verse?

Do you want to learn to play the flute? Or have you been playing for a few years and want to go one step further with your instrument?

The course is open to both beginners and advanced learners.
I have a classical education and can pass on the basics of this music. But the repertoire is not limited in classical music: if you feel like playing improvisation, jazz, folk, film or world music, you can do it in this course too.

As a student on the bachelor's degree in harp at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, I have been playing the harp for 15 years. After completing my master's degree in sound engineering in Paris, I came to Lucerne to continue my music studies.

I love teaching and often work as a substitute in Freienbach, Einsiedeln and Genève. I also gave numerous private lessons in France, both in harp and theory.

My name is Marie and I'm originally from Paris. I began my music studies at the age of 5 and then studied flute with F. Chatoux, the principal flutist of the Paris Opera. After receiving the highest study award at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris from N. Rozat, I joined P. Grehl's class in music at the HSLU Lucerne in the summer of 2018. In the summer of 2021, I completed my bachelor's degree with Pirmin Grehl in Lucerne and am currently completing my music education studies at
Pirmin Grehl with a minor in orchestra under Sarah Rumer. I have won first prize twice in national competitions in France and Switzerland.

I would like to pass on my passion and skills to everyone who wants to play this wonderful instrument, whether to support the teacher at the conservatory or for your own enjoyment.
I adapt to each individual's personality, their musical wishes for the repertoire and their goals.
