I am Dario and I am a licensed Italian Latin teacher. I studied Latin in high school and both in my Bachelor and Master at the University of Bologna, historically recognized as the best Italian university for Latin learning.
I am properly trained and experienced to tackle different learning needs.
Do you judge Latin the most boring subject on the planet and ask yourself why you need to take on that exam? I will make you discover the hidden beauty of this language and its many contacts with contemporary European idioms. Do you want to go deeper into a culture and literature that fascinates you, maybe earning some acquaintance with those weird but kinda familiar words? I will let you in the most fundamental historical, linguistic and cultural heritage for our European civilization.

About Me

I am a young licensed Italian teacher living in Belgium. Teaching is my life goal and the grounding reason of my university studies. I see teaching as a partnership between the teacher and the student: both will be enriched by the process and will end up learning something. I like to use different approaches in my teaching activities and to tailor my teaching strategies on the person I study with.
I used to live in Northern Italy (Bologna, where I studied) but I am originally from the magic South (Monopoli, Puglia). Linguistics, literature, history and anthropology have been the main pillars of my courses of study.
My hobbies are music and basketball: I cannot imagine my life without them.

I am a cum-laude, international Master graduate with a Bachelor in literature from the University of Bologna, the most prestigious in Italy and one of the most ancient in the whole world. Plus, I possess the official diploma for teaching at Italian high schools. Ergo, I am ready to plan how with you to become "un Italiano vero", either through grammar study, literature explorations, informal conversations or a good mix of them all!

Primary teacher by training, I am currently 27 years old. I went to primary school at Les Marronnier municipal school in Auderghem then at Saint Joseph School in Ixelles (school with participatory teaching).
I then studied in Latin-Greek during my high schools at the Athénée Royal Jean Absil.
I then took two years of courses in French and Romance languages and literature at the Catholic University of Louvain and then ended up studying as a primary teacher at the Haute Ecole Francisco Ferrer.

I have been teaching for three years in a school with active pedagogy in the municipality of Evere and doing a master's degree in educational sciences in parallel.

I propose to help with both homework and exams. More generally, I propose to listen and identify where the problems are in order to explain and help the student to understand for himself.

Having studied Latin during the 6 years of my secondary studies, I know that it can sometimes be difficult to build a foundation. This is why I offer courses allowing the student to ensure good basics such as declensions and conjugations, and also sentence / text analysis.

I am passionate dancer of Tango Argentin at Nosotros Tango Brussels. Since I was young I have been dancing couples' dances, and as soon as I could, I taught tennis, folk and salsa.

My name is Serdane and I offer ancient language courses to secondary school students who may have difficulty developing a working method that suits them. Extroverted and bubbly...and above all, a lot of humor!

Everyone learns in their own way. This is why I do not adopt a rigid method, but rather I adapt to the specificities of each student. Graduated in ancient languages and literatures (classical orientation) from the ULB, I am at your disposal to improve your level in Latin and ancient Greek. The courses are prepared according to the shortcomings of the student and according to the level to be reached.

I mainly give lessons to secondary school students, but I can also adapt to university students such as Romanists or archaeologists for a slightly higher price (see price list). I travel to Brussels and the break often necessary for the student between the two hours of lessons is in my case not counted in the asking price.

As a graduate with a BA in Latin and Ancient Greek and a MA in Biblical Hebrew, I offer private Latin, Ancient Greek, and Biblical Hebrew classes both for students who seek private tutoring and for those who wish to learn these languages even more in-depth.
