English language or English literature tutoring for secondary school students

I specialize in tutoring secondary school students in English language and literature, particularly students from international schools. I am familiar with the IB-programme and similiar programmes. However, exceptions can be made for other students.

I am fluent in both Dutch and English, so tutoring in either language would not be an issue from me. I would prefer to tutor in the area where I live, but exceptions can always be made. Travel costs are not included in the hourly price.

My name is Brooke and I am 26 years old. I am a native English speaker, born in the United States but I have lived in The Netherlands for many years. I also previously lived in the UK for five years. I am currently doing my bachelor´s degree in History at Utrecht University. I have three years of experience tutoring primary and secondary school students of all levels in English, but particularly students from international schools or doing the IB programme.

I like using the CLT methond during my lessons. I have been teaching in a Gymnasium as an intern for the past 3 years and this method is the one that works best. I really like practicing the language in useful ways that the students can later on use in their daily lives.
I would provide the material for the lessons (no need for a book). I would create or print material when needed. I would also bring my laptop if something needs to be shown. It is handy for the student to have a notebook to keep track of all the work during the lessons.
