Hi, My name is Cathrine. I have completed my IB diploma at Birkerød Gymnasium. I am currently pursuing my degree in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. I am originally from Malaysia but I have been living in Denmark for the past 5 years. However, English is my first language. I am fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the language. Therefore, during the lesson, I will incorporate tasks and activities involving these 3 aspects. We will also go through basic grammar rules that will be useful for both writing and daily conversations. I will provide printed worksheets and assignments (included in the fees of the lesson) to be done during the lesson and also as homework. Workbooks may be provided at an additional cost which you can work with on your own at home after the lesson. This is of course highly recommended for your own benefit as practice makes perfect. In the first meeting, we will discuss further on the preference of workload and what you would like to learn. For more inquiries, you can contact me and I will do my best to reply as soon as possible.

In my lessons I can teach you about Blues, Rock, RnB, neo-Soul, Funk and Pop. We will work on the technology and underlying theory. We also work on recognizing progressions, chords and intervals. Together we experience your playing style and I teach you the intricacies of guitar playing. I would like to offer you tailor-made lessons and targeted results. Ready to get started?

Orchestra Coaching for Amateur Violinists Joining an amateur orchestra is one of the most rewarding things you can do as a violinist but it also asks for skills that solo practice doesn't always prepare you for. In these lessons, I help you feel confident, secure, and comfortable in your section, whether you're about to audition, just joined, or want to keep up with a demanding programme. What we'll work on: Learning your parts efficiently — smart practice strategies to master the notes faster Counting, rhythm, and staying locked in with the beat Following the conductor and reacting to cues Tuning and blending within your section Bowings, section markings, and orchestral conventions Sight-reading and reading ahead Managing tricky passages, fast runs, and high positions Nerves and audition preparation Who it's for: Amateur and returning violinists who play in — or want to join — an orchestra or larger ensemble. Whether you're preparing for an audition, tackling a specific piece from your season, or simply want to hold your own more confidently in rehearsals, we'll focus on exactly what you need. Why me: I'm an active orchestral violinist and concertmaster with the Oosterhouts Symfonie Orkest, so I can give you first-hand, practical guidance on what really happens in the rehearsal room — and how to walk in prepared. Bring your orchestra music and we'll tackle it together. Lessons available in English, Dutch, or Portuguese. Book a trial lesson and let's get your parts ready!

As many musical instruments, piano tells a story, expresses emotional experiences, communicates desires and wishes. This class is for people (teenagers, young adults, or adults) who have always had the passion for piano but never had the opportunity to learn how to play. This class is also for those who simply want to improve their piano skills, going from a beginner to intermediate level. This class has two major focuses: 1. For beginners: main focus on on piano practice, learning new songs with incremental difficulty, and understanding of the music sheet. 2. For intermediates: main focus on intermediate/advanced songs with in depth comprehension of the music sheet. Skills you will acquire: 1. Beginners: you will learn how to play basic piano songs and obtain a basic knowledge of the music sheet. 2. Intermediates: you will learn how to play more complex songs and obtain a more advanced comprehension of the music sheet. Furthermore, you will learn the basis for piano music composition. I want this class to keep students challenged, but absolutely not overwhelmed. So, I will evaluate the few homeworks that I assign after every session and provide constructive feedbacks, in order for you to better learn.
