French tutoring and language practice for all levels

Hi! My name is Marie and I am a native French speaker, offering classes for all levels. Whether you are preparing for an exam, wanting to develop you language skills or trying to catch up on your school homework, we can make lessons work for you.
I have a collection of personalisable course material at my disposal, extracted from recent example of French-speaking culture, to use as a starting point for each class. It could be either short videos, news articles, book extracts, depending on your level, your interests, and your goals. From this, we will be able to work on all four language competencies: written and oral comprehension, as well as written and oral expression. And who knows, we might even be able to find you a penpal to practice you newly acquired skills.

Hi, and welcome to my Apprentus profile! My name is Marie, and I am a 26 years-old scientist. I come from France and have been living in Scotland for four years. I am passionate about the outdoors, mountaineering sports, as well as history and biochemistry. I am also a very curious person, so if you have any eccentric passion to share, I would love to focus on that during our tutoring sessions!
Indeed, I am offering on this platform French lessons for all levels. I believe that teaching, and especially teaching languages, should be highly personalised: I love to work on themes and from material the students have a particular interest in. From this base, we will be able to draw lessons on grammar and conjugation - trying to keep it light so the classes remain interesting.

Erfahrung / Qualifikationen
My experience in teaching has been mainly science-focused in the past, I am happy and excited to switch it up to teaching language skills!
During my PhD, I was involved in:
- laboratory demonstrating, during which I provided one-to-one advice about the scientific experiments the students were conducting
- tutoring fourth-year students during their end-of-studies projects (which last for four months). A great occasion to develop a lasting relationship, which gave me time to tailor my teaching style to their needs!
In the past, I have also had the chance to tutor several students in mathematics. Their abilities were vastly different from each other, and I got used to easily switch levels of teaching to adapt to their capacities and previous knowledge.
