Math/Philosophy/Study Skills for High School (and more)

I offer training, using English or Spanish, in Math, Philosophy & Study Skills subjects for High School Students in the area of Casablanca city in Morocco. My focus of activity is students of the Spanish, British and American Schools here, due to the intermediary languages I use in my classes.

I've been teacher/tutor for half of my professional life. I have an MA (BAC+5) in Logic & Philosophy of Science by the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, the top private university of Spain, with best qualifications (first of my promotion in 2005). I am now finishing by distance learning methodology at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) from Madrid, Spain, the Major (BAC+4) in IT Engineering and completing some Psychology subjects at the same university to make a stride into the fields of AI and Cognitive Science. Meanwhile, I continue, in Morocco now, my teaching activities, that I offered in Madrid, A Coruña, and sporadically in other EU cities I visited for shorter periods.

My teaching method is dynamic, not oriented to mere success in a particular exam or test, but focused completely on developing strong reasoning processes, critical thinking and acquisition of problem-solving techniques, which the student can find useful for the rest of his/her life. The goal is to create independent learners that do not need a tutoring process ever again. That's why my classes develop in stages, first of developing appropriate study skills and then trying to apply the new tools to the particular subject that required help in the first place.

Extra information

I move to the student's home or other preferred location in Casablanca area without additional fee. In this moment, I don't offer classes in my own place. I am open to impart to small groups, at the student request, with negotiable collective fee.

About Me

I was a science student in the 90s in Madrid and moved to Philosophy and Mathematical Logic out of passion for the subject. I did my studies with deep reflection and a developing love for a future as teacher. Since 2005 I shared my time between personal projects in several places, the last one, quite recent, Casablanca, where I now live, and the growing experience in personal tutoring the learning process of teens that I helped succeed along the years. I kept my own studies in parallel, thanks to the public distance learning university UNED in Madrid, in what seems to be a life-long personal growth adventure.

I enjoy teaching. I devote a nice portion of my classes to help build study habits, develop reasoning techniques, do emphasis on the role of clear language for clear ideas, teaching goal-oriented logical techniques and critical thinking, and training the problem-solving skills of my students. All that just with one objective: create autonomous learners that will never again need paying a personal tutor, instead of just helping overcome a difficult exam or improve the grades.

Education in science is building citizens for tomorrow, as we create reasoning, critical, healthy enquirers for the world of tomorrow.

Education

Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid: MA (BAC+5) in Philosophy (Honor's Degree), specialty of Mathematical Logic & Philosophy of Science.

Universidad Complutense de Madrid: Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude.

UNED: Specific Courses in English Studies (One Year) to perfect my English Skills
Some Subjects from Mathematics Degree (around 90 ECTS university credits)

Now at UNED, studying: IT Engineering with some subjects from the degree in Psychology, to focus in a personal project related with the Cognitive Sciences and AI.

Experience / Qualifications

Half my life, I worked as Commercial Agent/Assistant, for companies such as AXA.

The other half I devoted to teaching, mainly as a private tutor/coach, working independently or through intermediary companies. I also helped translate texts from English for a couple of NGOs, into Spanish.

Now I work as Spanish Teacher for a private university, here in Casablanca, and also at an academy in Rabat for training Moroccan students who want to pass the exam that grants access to the Spanish University System.
I teach Spanish for all levels and with diverse goals, such as for business (in one to one executive setting, with emphasis in communication and just glimpses of grammar), for school/university exams (deep emphasis on oral/written skills and grammar mastery), or just for fun or personal development (creating specific goal-oriented courses tailored to the needs of each student). The method I use is the so-called "natural" one. Its basis is the use in almost exclusivity of Spanish from moment zero, even for total beginners, as is demonstrably the most quick and effective way to learn linguistic skills. I do emphasis on communication, and I accompany the verbal part with written activities, games and audiovisual support materials. The objective is, quite apart from the specific skill and mastery of Spanish you get at the end of the course, that you master too the online tools and the books that you will need if you plan to keep on learning/improving later on, with a tutor or fully on your own.

Physics-Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science Courses
I first explain the course interactively with some examples and interesting anecdotes to make the course interesting. Then, I tackle standard exercises by level until I master the chapter. The courses are aimed at high school students or first year prep students. Mechatronics engineer, I also give lessons in physics-chemistry, mathematics and computer science. I have always had a passion for science but also for transmission. I very often give lessons to relatives and friends and I see their progress. I was even able to give high school lessons in France. I really enjoy teaching and seeing people progress and overcome their shortcomings. I would like to be able to make my knowledge available to pass it on to other people.

Math for high school, college and elementary school - excellence guaranteed! - Student at the College of Medicine and Pharmacy
Throughout my life, whether as a student or interested, I have met countless students who used to guess that mathematics is a very difficult subject that is difficult to confront in their education. This is a confirmation for me that I have decided that I will be able to solve the mathematics as if I had come to the end of the day! My goal is to learn eleven unique mathematical methods that ensure excellence in education and skill in the good journey of understanding mathematics as an impressive university! This is in French, in Arabic or in English, my connections resent my family and our previous calculations are not the same as in the maths! -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ---------------- I am a student at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Casablanca. I hold a baccalaureate degree in science and mathematics with a grade of (18.4). My baccalaureate result was 19.75 in mathematics and 18 in physics and chemistry! This is the main promotion of my school. (Please note that the higher elevation of the entire ecole and district, higher elevation)

Private lessons in mathematics (primary / middle school / high school) face-to-face or remotely
I offer a math course for all levels in order to prepare for the start of the school year. Whether you are a student looking for additional support, or a parent wanting to help your child succeed in mathematics, I am here to support you. My lessons are suitable for all levels, from primary to high school. My teaching methodology is student-centered, because I believe in a personalized approach to meet the specific needs of each student. Here's how I do it: Initial assessment: During our first session, I will talk with the student and his parents to understand his goals, difficulties and learning preferences. An initial assessment will allow us to target areas that require special attention. Lesson planning: Based on the initial assessment, I will put in place a personalized learning plan for the student. This plan will include clear and achievable goals, as well as steps to achieve those goals.☺️
