I offer lessons structured towards learning composition and music theory in line with academic syllabuses, with tailored support to specifications of GCSE and A Level Music, alongside free composition exploring the individual's technical and creative needs on an individual basis.

I’m a doctoral researcher in Composition at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and have studied composition at both Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music for Undergraduate and Masters level study.

I've been lucky to have had a very supportive group of teachers/mentors who have guided me to this point, and I feel passionate about providing this to others. I feel that music education is something that whilst having its immediate benefits, can complement many aspects of our lives, both educationally and in a skill-based capacity, but also concerning our understanding of ourselves and our individual creativity.

I have studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama attaining a 1st class undergraduate and a distinction at masters level. I am currently a PhD researcher in composition at Guilldhall School of Music and Drama.

His music has been performed and recorded by the ICTUS Ensemble Brussels,
UPROAR New Music Ensemble Wales, Darragh Morgan, EXAUDI Vocal Ensemble,
Plus Minus Ensemble, and the Royal Academy of Music symphony orchestra,
alongside soloists of his own generation. Joseph has twice been nominated by the
ISCM World New Music Days representing Wales.
His work has been performed nationally and internationally at KlexosLab New
Music Festival 2024 (Spain) and is commissioned to compose for Presteigne
Festival 2025.
Joseph's output ranges from soloist and chamber ensemble music, settings for
contemporary dance, electroacoustic and electronic works, and large-scale
orchestral works.

Instrument Tuition:

Very flexible approach, I will teach based on individual needs. Beginners will learn the basics of the guitar, basic chords, basic scales etc. And advanced players will learn more complex chords, intricate scales, harmonies and improvisation.

If you just want to learn how to play your favourite songs, then I will teach you how to do that. If you want to learn about song writing, I will teach you that. Anything and everything.

Logic Pro X:

Equally as flexible and I will adhere to individual needs, I may need to start from the very basics even for proficient users. I have many years of experience and I graduated from Manchester MIDI School as a specialist in Logic Pro X. I will explain, demonstrate and test students about each subject per lesson.

We will look at MIDI, editing, recording, compression, EQ, Mastering, mixing, time stretching, FX, plugins, remixing, audio design, sound manipulation and so on.
