During the classes you will learn about the art of building through drawing, painting, engraving and sculpting.

By drawing you will learn the effect of a monument according to its place, for drawing appears to be the best means of developing intelligence and judgment. You will also learn about orientation, light and shade. You will inscribe in your mind the methods used by the masters to produce the desired effect on a given place under particular conditions. You will analyse the fundamental principles, the rules of proportion, those gentle relationships between the parts and the whole, which the ancients gave to the orders in ancient buildings, to those of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

To communicate your thoughts clearly, to record your observations and to find the reason for all things, you will draw, paint and engrave from nature. Drawing is a language, a means of expression and communication, an art that complements and is indispensable to all professions, such as speaking and writing.

COURSE CONTENT

Subjects: Architecture, urban planning, nature, history of architecture, history of cities, building techniques, natural materials, sacred geometry, decoration, ornamentation and many more!

Techniques: Creation of natural paints (watercolour and gouache - access to a kitchen), sketching, perspective, sacred geometry, measured drawing, watercolour, gouache, charcoal and engraving on stoneware or wood.

About Me

I defend, practice and teach a beautiful, human and sustainable architecture and the crafts associated with it.
I plead for the rehabilitation of reason in the art of building. The attachment to history is not retrograde, on the contrary: the most fruitful traditions were all born from a U-turn. Guided by reason and based on history, I extract from these traditions their primordial principles in order to draw from them a concrete and sincere application suitable for today's architecture.

Private Painting and Drawing lessons, any level! I am a classically trained painter, I have been painting seriously for 20 years and studied intensively in Florence, Italy. I will teach you the basics about light, form, line, colour and space, and how to constantly grow and improve. We start with drawing from observation and continue to other mediums, including oil paint, once the student is ready.

Landscape, still life, portrait, expressive. My goal is to help my students improve every time and reach a new level. I provide many examples from art history as well as my own work, and give lots of demonstrations. I offer a personalized approach fitted to each student.

The classes are in a small group format, no more than 4 at a time and each student works at their own pace, it is private classes with other students present, offering a supportive environment in which to learn and grow. Each student receives personalized instruction at their own level. Each student is guaranteed to improve.

I ask for a commitment of 5 lessons at a time to see some improvement, and I accept students who are looking for longer term learning. Commitment is a must to grow! I have a master's degree in Industrial design (car & product design) with more than 7 years working experience and teaching. Regardless your level you are all welcome to join my class and learn core design skills such as prespective, industrial design sketching, rendering, photoshop and portfolio preparation.

I also teach drawing and oil painting with a focus on representational art. Through my course you will learn how to observe and appreciate nature in order to represent it effectively through drawing or painting. You will learn to draw and paint using the traditional techniques of the old masters such as Rembrandt, Caravaggio and the impressionists.

I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.

I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist.

I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. There are many ways to create a so-called "realistic" oil painting. And there are many visual tools that an artist can use to make a beautiful visual statement. Whether using thick impastos, thin washes of solvent-based color, bodied glazes, or mixed media elements, each technique can yield an engaging visual experience. Painting is, after all, a means of communication.

In this course, we will begin with the basic ideas and techniques for drawing and painting forms as the eye sees them. You will learn every stage for producing aesthetically pleasing and technically strong oil paintings. We will discuss concepts and ideas for painting, developing different studies, stretching the canvas, line drawing, tonal lay-in, dead-coloring (or color block-in), and modeling the forms (1st painting, 2nd painting, and finishing). We will also cover the techniques of alla prima or premier coup (direct painting in one pass). We will also study the formal methods of composition, different kinds of perspectives, paint surface and paint quality (facture), and proportions. And, of course, we will discuss the use of varnishes, including the final picture varnish.
