I am a professional opera singer who has performed in theatres and concerts in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Romania, and Hong Kong, has won international vocal competitions, been an adjudicator in vocal competitions, and given vocal masterclasses in secondary schools. Currently, I am an official singing and piano teacher at an arts school in London, where my classes are always fully booked. I have always enjoyed teaching and can teach a wide range of repertoire in English, German, French and Italian. My lessons are mostly in English, but of course I can teach in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese too. As a private singing teacher, all my students have won local and international competitions, and obtained excellent results in their exams. Some of them even decided to choose music and opera as their future careers. Although I am based in the UK at the moment, I still would love to help students who like to learn opera and classical singing in Hong Kong. Do not worry, I am experienced in giving online classes and you will not feel distant from me. You will enjoy my classes. Yet, I see many more responsibilities being a teacher. Besides sharing knowledge and experience with my students, I am also the person who: - enlightens my students through their journey of music; - my students can rely on and talk to; - influences them to embrace differences and be kind; - makes them aware of their values and proud of themselves. My students like sharing their stories and ideas with me outside the lessons, sometimes about books, sometimes about philosophy, sometimes about the world, sometimes about the industry, sometimes about anything in life. I always make time for my students. Besides singing, I have been a pianist and piano teacher for 13 years. I was usually the accompanist for my students in their competitions and exams. I am based in the UK at the moment, but I will arrange good accompanists for my students. If I can fly back to Hong Kong when my students take their exams and perform in their competitions, I will accompany them by myself. Trusted teacher: Hello! My name is Deanna, I am an English Native speaker that is of mixed heritage (Half Chinese, Half English). I speak Cantonese as my second language and basic mandarin. I am a recent graduate that previously studied Professional Musicianship at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. Then went on to complete the 120 hour TEFL certificate. I offer English lessons to both adults and children aged 3+. I was previously a primary school English teacher teaching in Hangzhou last year, mainly focusing on teaching phonics and pronunciation. Then, came to Hong Kong last July and now teach group English classes for a company as well as my own private students. My lessons always cater to each individual student’s needs, where I will create a tailored lesson plan around what my students are looking to achieve or follow the material that is provided to me. Whether you are a student simply looking to polish up and improve your speaking/listening skills with a Native speaker or you would like your child to focus on learning phonics, English grammar, Exam prep etc. My aim is to provide guidance and develop each of my student's English skills so that they may achieve their personal full potential. Whilst encouraging my students to feel more confident in using their English on a day to day basis. I am a patient, fun-loving and motivating teacher that firmly believes each student should always enjoy our lessons, learn at their own pace and get the most out of our lessons together. For my younger students (ages 3-5) I would suggest group class lessons of 2+ students, in which we would incorporate more games and activities so that the students can work together and help one another. Whereas, for my students (ages 6+) I would recommend 1-1 lessons as each student has their own learning progress, thus it is beneficial to have an individual program designed specifically for each individual student.
