Hi there! I'm Mike from Canada. I've lived in several countries and have more than seven years of experience in English instruction, and I can help in the following areas: *Learning the English language *Writing *Editing *Interviews and meetings *Presentations and public speaking *Exams *Conversation *Travel preparation I tend not to follow a specific method because each student is different. Instead, I tailor my lessons to meet individual needs. I guess you could say that I teach outside the box. Therefore, the first time I meet new students, the goal is to work out their level and what they want to achieve. My lessons are fun, creative, and interactive. Also, I am incredibly patient and open-minded. Finally, I believe that, instead of teaching someone a language, it's more important to help them learn that language. What do I mean by that? I find that students progress much more if they understand how they managed to learn something and can then carry that learning forward. My favorite part about teaching is watching students figure something out, and their eyes light up. Our first lesson will be a short consultation to determine your exact needs and set short-term and long-term goals. From there, we'll work together towards achieving these goals and adapting our lessons accordingly as things progress. I create a Google Drive folder for each student to store spreadsheets and invoices, lesson recaps, materials we work with, and exercises I assign for homework. This is also a place for students to upload anything they would like help with (e.g., reading office emails, writing projects, etc.). Our lessons will last for 55 minutes, leaving me with the remaining 5 minutes to keep this folder up to date. I look forward to meeting you and helping you learn my native language!
