For my lessons I mainly base myself on the Integrated Korean beginning 1&2 books and video material to vary it up a bit. In my opinion, learning grammar and speaking skills is the most important, but if there is interest in, for example, listening skills, reading skills, writing skills, ... this can certainly be practiced.
I took Korean classes at university and obtained a Postgraduate certificate in Korean Studies. So I am familiar with the difficulties of this "language learning journey", and thanks to this experience I know how to guide my students through them.
Asian culture has interested me since childhood, which is why I decided to make this my field of study. I completed my bachelor's degree in Japanology and look forward to sharing my knowledge with others. I also have some experience in teaching, thanks to previous student jobs. I currently also teach on various online platforms, my students are very satisfied with these lessons.

Hello, my name in Lies (Liz) and I’m from Belgium. Languages have interested me since I was little, that's why I want to make a job out of my interests. Sharing with others what you have learned and not let your knowledge go to waste, is one of the most fulfilling things there is.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Japanology and a minor in Korean Studies. At first Japanese and Dutch don't seem to have much in common, but by learning a language yourself you come to understand the learning process and the needs of the students. I mainly like to teach those who don't have any prior knowledge of Dutch and primary school students.
I currently work as a translator and a tutor on different platforms. During my student years, I also did various jobs that included teaching certain subjects to people/children. You can see that I have enough teaching experience.
The materials I use for my lessons are supported by the government. The language I use for teaching is usually English or Dutch. I like to focus on the native language my students speak and try to find similar sounds, words or grammar between the original and target language. From my experience, I noticed that it really helps my students to grasp the meaning of certain sentences or grammatical structures and their pronunciation improved really fast. In my opinion, the practical part is more important than the theoretical part, so I use a lot of exercises in my lessons. You only learn a language by using it.
Of course, if you have certain things you want to work on, or you already have some knowledge of Dutch, we can especially focus on those things. I’m very adaptable. But the most important thing is to love your language learning journey. The more fun you have doing something, the more you'll feel encouraged to get even better.
