I tutor GCSE and A-level English language and literature, focusing on grammar, text analysis and general written improvement. My preferred teaching method is spoken discussions about passages of texts and setting exercises which we can then review together. I find that spoken discussion allows further development in point of analysis in a student. We might start by reviewing an exercise set in the last session, giving feedback as we go, and then continue onto a new passage and finding some analysis points in theme, structure and language.
