Since English is not my native language, I myself had to learn it the same way you learn. I reached the C2 level by learning vocabulary and grammar. My learning is based on various methods that facilitate memory: memory palace, keywords, etc. My lessons are not boring dictations but are based on the latest teaching methods (e.g. Stephen Krashan), which means, for example, that I always use interesting materials that provide the right context, which helps to remember words longer. Many teachers don't pay attention to the concept of the "forgetting curve." They skip one lesson and start the next. I always repeat and assign tasks to consolidate what they've learned. For younger students, I use a grading system that provides extra motivation.
