Hi I'm Celia, I am a qualified teacher with over 5 years of experience working in primary schools across key stage 2. I came into teaching from a background in nursing and this has led me to believe that children learn best when they feel safe, secure and listened to. I work hard to ensure I build positive relationships with the children I teach, based on mutual respect, to create the best environment for learning. I am an enthusiastic practitioner, whose aim is to inspire and motivate children through my teaching, having high expectations for every pupil. I prepare tailored lessons for the specific needs of each child I teach, following a plan, do, review cycle to ensure my teaching fits each individual's need. For those children who are excelling academically, I make sure I give them opportunities to deepen their thinking so they have a richer understanding of the subjects they are learning about. Every child is unique and I seek out ways to be imaginative and creative to enthuse my pupils. I encourage my pupils to have high aspirations of what they can achieve through the questions I ask them and through the encouraging feedback, to help instill a growth mindset within them. I believe that with the help of a growth mindset, children are able to achieve what they set out to achieve.
This class is for anyone who wishes to take up the violin for the first time, or who hasn't played for a while. I tailor lessons to suit every student. I teach everything from how to hold the violin, create a beautiful sound, alongside learning how to read music. I would prefer to teach in person at the pupil's home, however I can teach via webcam if required.
