After ascertaining the level of my student, we engage in Spanish conversation at the start of the lesson, catching up on weekly occurrences. After identifying and correcting error prone areas, we move on to a reading and vocab-expanding exercises, where reading out loud in Spanish greatly improves accent, and vocabulary retention. The final parts of our class are dedicated to translating Spanish to English, after reading the section aloud, as well as revising weak areas, or areas that will be subject to tests. With adult learners, we can focus on topics which fascinate the student alongside excellent books (classics and those within genres they like) to hand-craft an enjoyable and profound curriculum. I teach in an easy-going and humorous manner, making learning Spanish an engaging and exciting prospect, in contrast to textbook-heavy approaches. This structure serves as a base, and is moulded towards the needs of the student.
Music production and composition is a key skill for any musician looking to accurately translate what's in their heads into reality, alongside the continued development of their creative musical ability. It can be very easy when composing song and chord structure to get caught in loops, repeating old patterns with little new. These can be subverted by new creative contexts, tapping in to unexplored areas. Additionally, a micro and macro learning of music theory will expand possibilities. I can teach Production to an Intermediate level and Composition to an Advanced level. Classes will specifically cater to each individual student.
I am a professional singer in the classical and modern sense: singing in choirs, cathedrals, and churches for over a decade, I can teach the classical style (soprano/treble, alto, tenor, bass); and as a singer/songwriter, with many performances at public venues, I can teach the more conventional style of singing. Regardless of style, I can teach my students the necessary techniques to bring not only the voice but the breath and diaphragm to their true potential. Like any instrument, progress is determined principally by consistency.
