My name is Amalia. For the past 6 years, I have been living and working in Spain as a researcher at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. I have authored articles in a variety of academic journals (in Spain and Latin America) and am also involved in translations, mainly academic, of Spanish texts into Greek and vice versa. We hold a Ph.D. Autónoma de Barcelona, which according to ASEP is equivalent to Cervantes' C2. I am also a graduate of the Department of Primary Education of the University of Patras. My experience in teaching Spanish has been shaped both by my university studies in the field of Education and by my work as a Spanish teacher during my stay in Barcelona, teaching Spanish and Greek( individual classes but also group lessons). The methodology I support is clearly personalized and responds to the needs, desires and obviously the abilities and goals of each student. It is also holistic (aimed at the student's cognitive and emotional dimension) and focused (we set small weekly goals). This means that learning a foreign language is not treated as something detached from the cultural context of the language, that is, I do not encourage cutting-edge grammar and vocabulary learning but combining them through thematic learning. For this reason, from the first lesson, the learner comes into contact with contextualized, rich vocabulary and basic grammar and is able to express basic sentences. Finally, my philosophy is based on "constructivism" a learning-teaching model where learning is progressively built, with each piece of new knowledge repeating and deepening the former, thus building new cognitive shapes. This facilitates repetition, understanding, and integration of each bit of information. Feel free to contact me for any details.
