(EN) There are many reasons why one wants to learn a new language, it can be for educational reasons, travel or simply out of interest, one thing is for sure, learning languages is a rewarding experience. My name is Leona. I currently work here in Valencia as a Conversation Assistant. I help English teachers in schools prepare materials and presentations in English. I have helped my students improve their level of English by practicing conversations and reviewing grammar and vocabulary. In my free time, I give private English classes to those who want an additional avenue to improve their understanding of English. I am a Filipino with a native/bilingual level of English, as it is one of the official languages of my country. I have numerous experiences teaching English from children to teenagers and adults. These experiences occur in a classroom or private class. My classes could be simply conversations or a more intensive one-on-one session with reviewers I have prepared and different learning modes (e.g. written exercises, oral activities). Ideally, I avoid translating words directly into students' native language to minimize their dependence on translation, instead explaining English words and concepts in a simpler way to improve their understanding. I like my classes to be a balance of a relaxed teaching environment while doing work. Students should never feel that mistakes are unacceptable, as it is normal and they are encouraged to learn. Welcome to my classes to learn Norwegian! I was born and raised in Norway and studied at university of Oslo Norwegian literature with history. I am very passionate about teaching and giving others the opportunity to feel confidence, uplifted & a sense of accomplishment. Depends on your level, i focus my classes based on basic Norwegian grammar and vocabulary so we will build you up together so you will feel a sense of achievement to be able to have conversations and be able to understand how the grammar works. Once you learn the grammar you will see that you can speak so much with that in place. Depends on your level but the goal is that you will quick be able to manage in easy every day situations. The tutoring is communicative. You will be encouraged to use the language active in practical situations from every day life, and you get many opportunities to practice and use the language. You will learn: -Basic grammar and pronunciation -Words and expressions to be able to tell you about yourself and ask others of the same -Words and expressions to daily situations -Ask and answer questions, express agreement / disagreement - Write simple texts - Read easy articles and tekst like menues, adds etc. We will talk about Norwegian culture, some history and also some typical Norwegian phrases you won't find in the dictionary. After each class we will do some homework until next time we meet. It will be fun, challenging, but not overwhelming & you will feel a sense of achievement. I am very flexible so if there are some special needs or something you would like to focus more on we will adapt the class based on your specific needs and desires.

Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you travel back and forth by train every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Memorise the timetable. 2) Realise that the train comes every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in textbooks and in normal lessons, the first approach is used - in the course I am offering you, it is the second approach because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both pupils and adults who want to learn the German language without time-consuming detours through the madness of fruitless school methods. Learning is easy, but unlearning things that have become bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, with my customised lessons you will greatly accelerate the learning process while having a positive attitude. I offer German lessons for individuals or groups (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive science and historical linguistics in particular. Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.

It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class.
