Matias - Paris$119
Trusted teacher: MATIAS Born in Buenos Aires in 1985, Matias is a multidisciplinary artist. Dancer, teacher and choreographer of tango, Matias traces an atypical path between Europe and Argentina, at the crossroads of disciplines. Trained in the traditional places of tango in Argentina since the age of 17, he nurtures an aesthetic curiosity inspired by tango, which led him to question several areas such as writing, drawing, video and contemporary dance. He has been developing choreographic creations since 2012, and works in collaboration with: the Tanztheater Pina Bausch, the dancers of the Opéra National de Paris, the ballet of the Leipzig Opera, the company Les Choses de Rien, the Fabrique Autonome des acteurs , and other independent companies. In 2017 Matias began a series of collaborations with the CCN Mulhouse / Ballet de l'Opéra National du Rhin, under the direction of Bruno Bouché, fundamental in his trajectory: he participated in the Atelier (multidisciplinary research residency), designed the scenography of the “Dancing Bach in the XXI” program (choreography by Chaix, Bouché and Mercy). As part of the Arsmondo festival, in 2019, at the request of Eva Kleinitz, he directed and choreographed the tango opera "Maria de Buenos Aires", by Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer. Captured and broadcast on Arte, the piece allows him to make visible a research involving several aesthetic codes and forms, beyond tango. Invited by Marcial Di Fonzo Bo, Matias does the choreography of “Tango y Tango” (premiere May 2023), a hybrid piece with theatre, dance and music, with Marcial Di Fonzo Bo (stage director), Philippe Cohen Solal de Gotan Project (musical creation) and Santiago Amigorena (scenario), at the Théatre du Rond Point.

Argentine Tango lessons, for amateur or professional dancers (Paris)
Matias
Matias was an amazing teacher. Before arriving in Paris I had zero experience dancing ballet - or any dance form for that matter. He was incredibly open when I told him it was my first time and began my lesson without any judgement. Across our three lessons I received a range of support, from practical instruction to training on how to properly stretch and destress. Matias’ teaching was also theoretical; in our first lesson he talked me through anatomical diagrams to help me get better acquainted with the muscles that I would be using during my practical work. Matias was an attentive, sensitive, and lighthearted teacher and his bright and airy Parisian studio space was the perfect place to begin my ballet journey. I cannot recommend his teaching enough!

French tutoring with a native speaker : Learn, Improve and Enjoy! (Reykjavik)
Tiffany
Very sweet lady who is always asking how she can improve and cater her lessons towards your personal needs! Knows very well the French language and not on a fluent level, but also the technicalities behind it. Is willing to take time with you and work on your mistakes, as well as trying to explain some French key moments that are difficult to understand for foreign language speakers in a way that is understandable. Always makes sure to challenge you and sees how you can improve! Had a very lovely experience :)

Ann
Ann, was great! Very soft spoken, very knowledgeable, my daughter loved her ballet lesson with Ann. We will continue to have lessons with her. Due to COVID this is the best option for us and it seems to work.
