About Me

I am an experienced Spanish language teacher. I have lived as an expatriate for more than 20 years. In this time, I have focused my career on the Spanish language as well as important aspects of our culture.

My passion is education. I am a sociable and outgoing person. I enjoy meeting people. I love discovering new cultures. Teaching the Spanish language has been the means to open the door to a new world and experiences for my students and myself.

My main objective is to achieve results in the shorter term. It is essential to maintain a fluid communication with my students. Periodically I like to discuss the proposed goals in order to achieve them in a gradual, friendly and very interesting way.

Experience / Qualifications

I have worked with elementary, middle and high school students in the educational U.S. public system with excellent results. I have always focused on the needs of my students, reaching their goal in terms of language use. I have many success stories as a Spanish teacher, across different levels and ages in different institutions.

The individual classes have been a complete success. Among my students I have had managers of transnational companies and middle management employees who need the acquisition of the language to successfully perform professionally in a Spanish-speaking country, enjoy and interact on a daily basis in a Spanish speaking country also, in few cases enjoy a holiday in one of our countries.

My passion is education. My purpose is to teach my mother tongue in an effective way to the student. I want them to be confident in communicating in any field they need.

Over the years, I have learned to customize courses according to the needs and interests of my students. I am constantly trying to improve my teaching method by looking for new materials to make the class more entertaining.

I had my first experience during my language course in Spain and I repeated the experience in the United States. Since then, I have been giving tutoring lessons in English, French and Spanish to children, teenagers and adults to fill gaps or teach them a new language. Passing on my passion for languages and helping students communicate properly blossoms professionally.

I am currently in the first year of HEC at the University of Lausanne. I am available to young students who have difficulty in English, Spanish, maths and music. I have just obtained my French-English bilingual maturity and spent a year in Australia. I also hold a Certificate of Proficiency in English (C2 English level) issued by Cambridge Assessment English. My goal is to help any student to clear up all the gray areas that he could have on a subject and lead him to the success of this one. I come from a very small country in Central America known for the beauty of its nature: Costa Rica. Native Spanish and holder of a Diploma in Hispanic Language and Literature as well as three accreditations as a DELE Examiner (Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language), I have a long experience of more than 10 years in teaching Spanish to adults, adolescents, elderly and children of various cultural and linguistic origins, both in traditional classroom, group and individual teaching, as well as with the help of new virtual distance learning devices.
