I aim to make sure students understand material intuitively first before delving into complicated questions and foster a friendly and patient learning environment. Instead of relying on memorising formulas, I teach students how to derive the formulas themselves, build upon their previous knowledge and use them to solve complex questions in a simple way, building their confidence in the process. To facilitate this, I use metaphors and every-day things to construct stories that help students remember concepts and relationships between them. My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, preferences and learning style so I am able to accommodate specific requests. I can help students work on improving both overall understanding of the subject as well as detailed and thorough understanding of specific topics/sub-topics. As someone who sat these exams myself, I know what the most common mistakes in each topic are, the best exam techniques and have lots of tips, tricks and resources I can share! I offer flexible scheduling, with availability during the day, early mornings, and late evenings for lessons online or in-person lessons near South Kensington. I offer one-to-one violin lessons for all ages and skill levels with a supportive and structured approach. I am highly adaptable to any of your goals and desires, whether it’s to make your first steps in violin playing, develop a general understanding of musical language, prepare for a certain grade exam or just play for fun. My aim is to make learning enjoyable and share the love for music with my students. My lessons are carefully designed to suit everyone. It usually consists of the foundation of the violin technique, a wide range of repertoire, carefully selected for every individual, historical context of the compositions, music theory and aural skills, however, it depends greatly on the goal of each student and can differ in each case. I have been teaching for over three years, both in person and online, with students’ ages ranging from 4 to 48 years old, and enjoyed helping them move towards their dream, whether it is to be able to play a tune from their favourite song, or a classical concerto. Trusted teacher: Isaac is an award-winning clarinettist, teacher and arranger. He graduated with Distinction from the Royal College of Music as an HR Taylor Trust Scholar, studying Masters of Performance. In 2021, he graduated first class as a Bachelor of Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he won the college's Concerto Competition. He is originally from a small village in Northamptonshire. At a young age, Isaac has a wealth of experience in teaching across all levels of education. He has managed his private studio for half a decade, whilst currently holding the position of woodwind tutor at West London Free School, previously Loughton Music Academy Trust and World Heart Beat Music Academy. Alongside working with RCM & RWCMD Juniors departments, and RCM Sparks programmes as workshop support staff, Isaac has worked with the outreach departments of the London Mozart Players, Neville Holt Opera and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He is also an ongoing self-employed tutor at BSharp Studios, Marie de Bry Arts Academy, Forte Lessons, Lycaeum Tutors, and London Music Tutors; he is also on the roster of the RCM Teaching Service. In 2022, his wind quintet, Ormonde Ensemble, won a place on the Wigmore Hall Chamber Tots Training and Development Scheme, a unique opportunity for musicians to develop their skills and experience as supporting musicians in early-year practice. Isaac approaches teaching with a young, fresh mindset with a heavy focus on a strong musical foundation, problem-solving, practice “hacking”, determination and, above all, enjoyment. This facilitates constantly fresh ideas for his pupils to work on alongside regular fundamentals. Isaac works regularly as a guest with some of the top orchestras in the country, such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and London Mozart Players, among others. He has recently been appointed as one of the Philharmonia’s ‘MMSF Emerging Artists’ for the 2023/24 season. Isaac’s rates factor in all the financial obligations of being self-employed, such as holiday pay, sick pay, pension contributions, familial leave, additional travel, increased preparation time or greater responsibility. Current inflation rates, including global food prices and transport costs, are also a continual factor in the fee. They also follow the recommended teaching rates for this location put forward by the Musician's Union, of which Isaac is a member. This is to avoid undercutting other tutors, whilst still wishing to provide affordable lessons. Lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes: 30 minutes is ideal for young beginners, 45 for adult beginners and older pupils. 60 minutes for advanced players or those who wish to learn Music Theory in tandem. Trusted teacher: Hi everyone! My name is Inés, I am 22 years old girl form Spain. I have studied a Degree in Mathematics in my country where I had the opportunity to specialise myself in Pure Mathematics, more concretely in Algebraic Geometry which is the field of my thesis. During those years apart from researching and studying hard to get outstanding marks I worked as tutor specially with undergraduate mathematics, physics and engineering students as well as last year of high school students focused on passing “PAU” the Spanish exam to access to university. I have worked with a really wide range of students, boys and girls who just wanted to get the best grades, others with no interest to do anything and of course with lot of students who hated maths. Eventually we always fulfilled together our goal and on many occasions I know that apart from that I was key to make some of them start liking maths. Mathematics is my passion and I always try to transmit it along with all the interesting things which surrounded this beautiful science. Proudly, today I can say that some of my “worst” students at the beginning, those who didn’t want to listen anything about math are currently studying university degrees such as engineering and they enjoy math as I do. With all this I just want to say that no one is more or less capable of doing maths, students need something which motivate them, specially with abstract stuff, that is why my method consists of showing real applications, answer why we have to learn this and that, why is important..
