About Me

I am a working yoga teacher, actress & performer, and have just returned to London after the nation wide lockdown. Before this I was on an 8 month contract in the Caribbean (Graduate of London School of Musical Theatre 2017). I attended Tring Park School For The Performing Arts, where I studied Maths, Further Maths for my A Levels (along side Musical Theatre Training). I achieved an A in Maths, a C in Further Maths . I have a passion for maths being accessible to all. I am 22 years of age, and currently based in Peckham. I am happy to travel within reason if given reasonable notice.
I believe my age is a key factor in making maths 'cool' and relatable; many young people find it easy to just 'switch off' when they walk into a maths class. I strive to break this trend!
I am currently working in the arts, so my time is nearly always flexible!

I have worked as a private tutor for the past five years, and I am currently tutoring both online & inperson (according to COVID19 guidelines). I am currently tutoring 4 pupils ages 7-23.
I have guided 3 pupils based in Dulwich through their year 6 SATS, and am thrilled with their results!
I have previously taught four pupils ranging from year 9 to year 11, two of which I guided through their GSCE, and two of a younger age bracket (KS2 & 3) to help them tackle maths at school!
I have also taught in the Performing Arts working with ages of 8-15 and I used to unofficially tutor many of my peers during my A Level and GCSE courses, helping to break down the work and make it more translatable and understandable.

I am a graduate from Queen Mary University of London with a first class degree with honours in Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences.

Mathematics is an essential subject studied by all students from prep school to GCSE class. Having adequate Maths knowledge also helps students understand science subjects such as Physics and Chemistry. Studying Maths has always been fun for me since I love finding the most efficient way to solve problems. I understand that not all students feel this way and that is why I am here to teach students not only the fundamental methods to solve Maths problems but also how closely related Maths is to our real world.

In my lessons, I will use Key Stage, AQA, and GCE Maths books with sample papers to explain the content thoroughly to my students. I will also offer class notes written by myself specifically for my students to help them grasp the knowledge in a clear layout.

Having completed both my GCSE and A-level studies in the UK, I have firsthand experience of studying and taking these exams and hope to deliver my tips to my students. I am fluent in English although my native language is Mandarin Chinese. Finally, as an older sibling, I have experience assisting my sister the whole way through her GCSE exams.
