About Me

Over a 20-year period, I helped many students avoid problems with Mathematics, Critical Reasoning, and Test Anxiety.
I've taught verbal and quantitative reasoning classes online globally and in 3 countries in-person, as well as one-to-one to more than 100 clients in the Netherlands.

Education

I've a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley. I worked as an Equities Analyst, where I learned to invest from the best. And since 2005 I've studied Pedagogy, Communication, and the fundamentals of Mathematics while working as a teacher in California, Tel Aviv, and, now, Amsterdam.

I am currently enrolled to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at King's College in London. For my GCSEs I received 10 A*s and for my International Baccalaureate I scored 40 points. My specialties are Maths, English, Geography and Economics. I would like to tutor children from the ages 6 to 16.

My goal for my lessons is to help students with their homework, improve their general understanding of the subject and to prepare for exams. During high school I was a member of the National Honour Society whereby I tutored students younger than myself and my age twice a week, thus I have learnt how to better explain things and I know the importance of hard work. I am a firm believer of goal setting and visual learning and I am reliable, flexible and patient.

You will be given tips, advice, including with exam technique, available for primary or secondary students.
We can go through exam practice papers, content from class you do not understand or revision. I am a student at the moment myself, so believe I can give an understanding and patient learning environment.

During my studies in Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (graduated in 2015, MSc.) and in addition to my job as a consultant, I have always taught mathematics and statistics to secondary school students and university students (HBO and WO) with great pleasure. Since 2022 I work parttime as a math teacher and educational advisor in the Emma Children's Hospital in Amsterdam and besides I teach private students.

Lessons can be taught in English or Dutch and face-to-face or online, depending on the location.

The class is intended for advanced students who are enrolled in (pre-)Master courses in one or more of the following topics: Machine Learning,

I believe anyone can learn math. And with an average rating of 8.5 for my exam training at, among others, lyceo, I have experienced a lot of others doing the same.

We usually start with some (simple) exercises around the subject to gauge your understanding. This way I can construct a tailor-made approach that guarantees you will see the light. There are, of course, no real guarantees in education. But I can guarantee that after every hour of tutoring, you will be a little closer to the math genius that you really are.

In addition, in the past two years, I have gained a lot of experience in online education. I now have a drawing tablet, an iPad, and an external microphone (worth 300 euros) to be able to deliver the best experience online.

After having received a bachelor in Aerospace Engineering and Philosophy & Mathematics, I am now doing research at the University of Cambridge in the field of AI.
