What is baroque oboe? It’s a copy of an instrument used in the 17th and 18th centuries, now used for historically oriented performances of early music. It’s significantly different from the modern oboe we know from the symphony orchestra, it has no keys, requires less physical strength, and plays in a pleasant, slightly lower pitch (A 415 Hz) just to start with. That’s the instrument Bach had in mind writing Matthew Passion or his amazing cantatas and Marcello his famous Oboe Concerto. I’m a graduate of Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag and Universität der Kunste Berlin where I mastered the art of playing historical oboes. For ten years I’m working as a professional musician with several early music groups in Holland and abroad. Playing oboe is my passion which I want to share with others. Experience with playing musical instruments like a recorder, modern oboe, clarinet, etc is welcome but not necessary. As a trained modern oboist (Master's degree) I’m also happy to teach modern oboe.

Trusted teacher: Hello, My name is Sergio, I come from Spain, and last year I finished my clarinet master's degree in Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Do you want to learn how to play the clarinet? You have come to the right place! I offer individual lessons for all ages and all levels (from beginners to preparation for entrance exams in conservatorium). I can go to your place, or you can come to mine. Nowadays, due to the Covid-19 situations, it may be difficult to move out of home. That's why I also offer online lessons: you don't need any special equipment, just a computer or a mobile and an Internet conection. The lessons are personalized for each pupil, aiming for developing to the maximun his capacities, while learning in a fun way.
