I am a Cambridge graduate (BA and MEd) and my speciality is helping students to a deep understanding of Chemistry (from school to first-year-university level) and Physics (to 16), and of IB Theory of Knowledge. I have recently retired after teaching the IB, UK A-levels and GCSEs for over 30 years in schools in the UK and around the world, and have tutoring experience of all these courses and in the American High School system and for entry to Czech and Polish university courses. I can explain complex ideas in ways which are easy to understand, and will adapt all aspects of our work to you, whatever your needs and aspirations. My students grow in confidence and competence and enjoy our classes, and they invariably meet with success in their exams.

You will need a computer with a webcam, and be able to receive materials by e-mail. My online lessons run through Zoom. For the class itself, you will need paper, something to write with, and a calculator. A printer may be useful.

I have been a Science teacher since graduating from Cambridge University, and have worked in three schools in the UK and three in other countries. I have taught Chemistry, Physics and Biology (I)GCSE and IB Diploma Chemistry for 20 years, and A-levels before that and as a tutor since. I have tutored many students successfully and worked for Oxford Study Courses in their revision programmes for 10 years. I am an enthusiast about Science and about learning about Science, and I will find out how I can best help you understand the ideas and gain the knowledge which gives you command of the subject. It is this which will help you get the best grades in exams. I am very flexible in terms of timing of classes online. All I ask for is an open mind and a positive attitude!
