Hello, my name is Suse , I'm 29 years old, I'm Portuguese and I live in Grenoble, France.

I am fluent in English, I have extensive knowledge of Chinese-Mandarin and I am learning French.

One of my biggest dreams from a very early age is to travel and see the world, a dream that I have been realizing step by step.

These trips have also served to endow me with multicultural awareness and to create respect for people and cultures geographically and culturally distant from mine.

And this is how I present myself to you: a person prepared for challenges, a lover of languages and cultures who wants to convey the beauty of them.

I love to read and share this passion with others!

After finishing my degree in Portuguese-Chinese Translation and Interpretation, I became a teacher of Portuguese as a Foreign Language. I taught Portuguese at a company based in Lisbon, specialized in teaching Portuguese to students of Chinese nationality.

For the past three years, I have been a teacher at the Chengdu Institute of Sichuan International Studies University (四川外国语大学成都学院), China. It was during this time I discovered my passion for teaching. I taught several classes as speaking, history, extensive reading, pronunciation, and so on, which prepared me for any challenge you might propose to me.

After return to Europe, I started to give online classes.

Throughout my experience as a teacher, I understood that learning a language can't be forced. Language learning is an individual process and should take place as naturally as possible for those who learn it.

Classes will be taught according to your level and prepared exclusively to meet your expectations and goals, in a relaxed and conducive environment for communication.

I'm available to teach not only Portuguese language classes but also historý, culture and other subjects you may have interest in.

Advantages of learning a new language:

Learning a new language is fun. But what I’m (and you should be) after is not bilingualism but instead biculturalism. We think by aid of words. Therefore language shapes thought. In part this is because working in a second language slows down the thinking. No wonder people feel different when speaking a second language. And no wonder they feel looser, more spontaneous, perhaps more assertive or funnier or blunter.
Studies show that being able to speak another language is generally linked to a more flexible brain, developing the brain’s ability to plan and prioritize. Also it betters our defenses against dementia in old age.

• It has been an official language since 1297
• It’s usage is spread over 4 continents (Europe, South America, Africa, Asia)

The pace, duration, frequency and schedule of the classes is totally up to the student to decide. The best case scenario is 1-2x per week depending on both parties availability.

Focus on diverse subjects is possible, for example, grammar, diction, reading comprehension, written production, conversational skills.
In case the student has no specific requests, together we will follow the guidelines of a trusted book (that I myself bring to the class and the student doesn’t need to acquire).

In every class the student will be directly influenced by worldwide Portuguese culture ( music, history, geography).
Periodically we will evaluate how the classes are evolving so as to rapidly and effectively shift focus to where it is needed.

Hello Everyone! Welcome to fun and enjoyable Portuguese lessons online!

My name is Paula and I am a qualified Portuguese teacher. I studied to be a Waldorf primary teacher and also completed the TEFL, which additionally allows me to teach English.I also have a bachelor's degree is in Cinema and Communication.

I am half Brazilian/half Portuguese and I also teach both Brazilian and European Portuguese, depending on your preference. I am fascinated by all the varieties of my language and the small distinctions between them. It's so beautiful!

I first meet students for lessons, to get to know their objectives, their interests, and what kind of learners they are. Each person is different and I try to adapt to every student. In my classes, I use a communicative approach and we start talking from day 1. My goal is to make students feel comfortable with the language and not be afraid to make mistakes. I work on the development of speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills, as well as proper pronunciation and vocabulary enhancement.

In my classes, you will learn about Brazilian or Portuguese culture, through music, texts, videos, quizzes, and pictures. Classes for children are full of games and arts!
