I specialise in tutoring Maths, English Language, English Literature and cooking skills for primary mainstream and SEN children.

I create opportunities for students to develop a strong knowledge of the foundations in these subjects. I also have experience of teaching gifted and talented primary children. Students are encouraged to look for connections, problem solve and be creative in their learning. I tutor essential skills, therefore even cooking classes involve mathematical learning opportunities!

Learning can involve key focus areas that I will base assess at the start, review and chart student's progress. I can offer practical advice to parent/carers and assist with homework activities. We can work alongside the school/classroom curriculum where I can also provide a deeper learning of current school learning.

I can provide learning that is engaging, challenging and rewarding. Looking forward to meeting you.

About Me
I tutor holistically, so I care about my student's academic progress as well as their wellbeing. Therefore I offer a strengths based approach, building learner confidence and skills.

Students enjoy a co-productive approach. Together we identify and work towards goals. I assess the learner's knowledge at the start and then tailor our sessions towards progress in the identified areas.
As a qualified and experienced teacher, I use a range of strategies to support learner acquisition, problem solving skills and creative writing skills. No concept is too hard to master!

I endeavour to include activities that offer engaging sessions with the right level of challenge. Sessions are practical and creative in their design. This allows students to really understand what they are learning and why, making links between new information and building on previous learning.

Concepts that are deemed ‘too difficult’ at school are broken down into small manageable steps in order for students to gain a sense of achievement.

Sessions can inspire as well as encourage confidence in cooking skills, Maths and English. Students are supported to gain independence in their problem solving skills and their literary writing skills. I share learning to learn skills by encouraging student idea and thought generation, organisation and communication skills.

Experience / Qualifications
I have 12 years experience as an educational practitioner and tutor. I have taught in mainstream and SEN schools. I have worked with disaffected youth in PRUs and gifted and talented children. I specialised in maths and literacy development including phonics, reading, and writing.

I have worked with a range of special needs including cerebral palsy, dyspraxia, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing disorder, global depay, organisation and planning difficulties, ADHD, medical and self-care needs, and children with PMLD, SLD, and MLD. I have experience with writing bespoke, holistic learner specific curriculums, and have written curriculums for SEN schools and home schools. My sessions are stimulating and tailored to the student's specific needs.

I have developed and implemented curricula including schemes of work and policies that accommodate learning, physical, sensory, and communication needs, supported school staff (teachers SENCOs, learning support assistants) to develop individualised materials and resources, researched and implemented SEN interventions and programs, devised and written targets and Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) and assessed, monitored and reported on progress.

Just done your mock exams? Are you ready to pull your grades all the way up? Or maybe looking to secure your 'safe' grade? Look no further. As a full time Data Lead and Exams Officer at Conisborough College, I have a unique view of performance metrics, and the latest knowledge on GCSE exams. With a specialism in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, my style of teaching is an expression of my experiences as a student and a tutor.

My past tutoring experiences range from teaching secondary school classrooms and a lot of work with 1-on-1's. While I have had State Schooling my successful early experiences with exams (SATS, GCSEs) set me up with a solid foundation and ideal to approach exams by myself and eventually find my area of expertise in everything Maths and Physics.

When it comes to exam preparation, my strategy is always textbook oriented. My principle in education has always been to know what I don't know and then deal with my not-knowing of that chapter/area.
I like to use what is known/understood as a warm up and get creative with it, probing the student's baselines and tactics.
The warm up also gives you the winning-feeling about the subject and this is a feeling that grows and brings clarity such that it guides me year in, year out to go and understand every chapter to answer every topical exam question, and it can for you too.

I offer in person, and online teaching and am willing to provide references on demand, but first let's have a video call to discuss your needs further!

Have you just passed your practice exams? Are you ready to boost your grades? Or perhaps you're just looking to secure your "safe" grade? Look no further.

As Data Lead and Exams Manager at Conisborough College, I have unique insight into performance metrics and the latest developments in GCSE exams. Specializing in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics, my teaching approach reflects my experiences as a student and tutor.

I have extensive teaching experience, both in classrooms in secondary schools and in individual tutoring sessions. Although I received a state education, my successful experiences with exams (SATS, GCSEs) gave me a solid foundation and an ideal method for approaching exams independently. This is how I was able to specialize in Mathematics and Physics.

When it comes to exam preparation, my strategy always relies on textbooks. My learning principle is simple: identify what I don't know, then address those gaps.

I like to start with what is already known and understood, using it as a warm-up. This allows me to assess the student's level and strategies, while making learning more dynamic and creative. This warm-up also gives you a sense of achievement, which strengthens over time and provides essential clarity. It's this approach that has allowed me, year after year, to assimilate each chapter and be able to answer each exam question. It can do the same for you.

I offer in-person and online classes and can provide references upon request. But first, let's discuss your needs over a video call!
