I am an Art Historian experienced in teaching both children and adults at schools and art galleries. The focus is to show the uniqeness of every artistic period in Europe and challenge students to distinguish the differences between styles.

The course will not only consist of a theoretical part, but also a practical one where students will learn how to paint using a baroque light and techniqe.

I am a practicing artist with an BA and MA in Fine Arts by L'Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs and by the Sandberg Instituut.

My course focuses on giving the students the tools and knowledge necessary for applying to Art School or for funding for more specific projects.

I will help you develop a portfolio and guide in the development of the work by analysing with you conceptually and formally. We will engage in a conversation that provides the student with a better understanding of the body of work being produced and presented.

The course structures differently depending on the needs of the student, and can range from exercises in theory, practice, translation, synthesis and experimentation, as well as working on presentation and discourse.

My practice is specific to sculpture, installation, performance, and space design and can provide insight and tools in these mediums very precisely, but of course we will not be restricted to these as a pluridisciplinary artist. I have a large studio near Oosterpark with many tools and space for creation and experimentation if necessary. Available in the studio: ceramic tools and kiln, metal tools, wood tools, mold making and casting, and many other.

The course proposes a methodology from concept, writing, and experimentation, to execution, collaboration and presentation, necessary for a contemporary artist in todays art ecosystem. We will work with context as well: visiting works, museums, galleries and spaces run for and by artists in todays contemporary environment.

I have successful experience with the application system for project funding and juried interviews that we can focus on depending on the needs of the student.

I conduct very different classes for children as well, in which we focus on material expression and the exploration of formal grammars, learning techniques through intuitive processes and translating the children's narratives and energy into material gestures.

Each age is special and different visual styles can be worked upon and the outcomes can often be surprisingly authentic. Those anticipations are the basis of each class. My classes are designed through collaborations when it comes to experimentations or intersected fields and mediums, which is an option and pertinent characteristic of approach.

Classes are applicable to students who are 16+ of all levels .
Personal Portfolio Class:
If you are considering applying for art school or design school, you might want to prepare yourself and build a convincing portfolio, perhaps improve your presentation skill or even some confidence boost for interviews.
We will first explore what talents you already have and those you will want/need to have, the goal is to help you develop your creativity and curiosity as well as your artistic skills and most importantly find out your inner talent for a direction that will suit you, whether in education or self-development. And we will do a live rehearsal for your interview for the best presentation result and confidence boost. Overall, It'll help you cultivate the soft and hard skills you need to be more confident setting and resetting expectations, strengthening relationships, and taking your projects across the finish line without any cold sweat.

For teenagers: are highly encouraged to experiment with different materials and techniques and preferably through themes - selected by me or the student's likings as well. We will also look at specific Artists and Painters, as well as specific Art History periods, and the kids will then be encouraged to play around and recreate their own version of the Artist or period. Needless to say that class do not necessarily mean free-time activity, the academic material is intentionally or not(unconsciously) always a present element of my instructive performance. Therefore, the game becomes a teaching/learning relation, whilst teaching and learning turn into a recreational joyful moment for all participants.

Does your kid love to draw? Encouraging and assisting the development of artistic skills and expression might be a great way to help them have fun, develop a hobby and even spend some time off the screen.
I offer individual tutoring and in small groups (welcome, brothers, and sisters!), and this is how it works:

I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer with fifteen years of experience. I studied art and architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Columbia University in New York. I teach painting, drawing, digital image and creativity. This class is ideal for beginners but also intermediate students who want to develop their own style.

For my personal projects, I work in a wide range of mediums, from drawing, painting and printmaking to digital image and 3D Printing. When teaching, I prefer to first focus on free-hand drawing and painting as this allows for greater spontaneity regardless of the student's technical level. We later explore other methods based on the student's individual interests. I like to teach children and adults via mini projects involving art history references and help them develop narratives around their work. Hello, I am Marcela a multidisciplinary artist with BA in Visual Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts - University of Queretaro, Mexico. I have also done an exchange of 6 months to learn about sophisticated art methods at the Faculty of Fine Arts - University of Granada, Spain. Additionally, to deepen my skills, I took two courses on drawing and painting at Crea, Amsterdam.
In this course I will teach the basis of drawing and painting. Regarding drawing, I will teach the principles of sketching, moving forward to the specifics of light and shadow. During the drawing classes, you will also learn about different techniques, such as pastels, charcoal, and graphite. With respect to painting, you will learn about theory of colour, how to design a colour palette, and how to apply it. Next, you will learn about the specificities of materials, such as acrylics, watercolour and oils. You will then be able to experiment with these materials, and at the end create your own artwork based on your preferences.

My background in art studies at HKU, a year of Psychology at UvA, and the rich teaching experiences of my family form the foundation of my teaching method. I won the Buning Brongers Prize in 2018, and was nominated that same year for the Royal Prize for Modern Painting and the Dooyewaard Stipendium. I can also guide you in applying for grants, prizes, and other types of applications, help you write Artist Statements and Project Plans (for grants), and of course, with the writing part of the application to art academies. I can also provide information more focused on the art practice, building your own business. In today's times, this gives many self-taught artists the opportunity to set up an art practice through the internet and entrepreneurial skills, with an online shop selling (limited-edition or open-edition) prints of their paintings or drawings, and amazingly, many artists are able to earn a decent income this way, with some going viral on platforms like Instagram and suddenly becoming world-famous. This is not something that happens quickly or often, but it does represent a significant shift in the Contemporary Art World, which previously was much harder to establish your own business and art practice, making the artist much more dependent on representation by a Gallery.

My lessons focus on (re)discovering the joy of making art. I believe that every individual has a unique creative process, and that in art, there is no right or wrong. With my extensive knowledge of people, I can tailor guidance and coaching to meet the needs and interests of each student. Whether it's about building an impressive portfolio, exploring pre-courses, or navigating the choices of art academies and directions, I'm ready to share my expertise. I graduated from a high school of art and design in France, continued my studies at the School of Fine Arts in Geneva HEAD, and I'm currently finishing a specialization in choreography at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam.

Painting has been always my passion since childhood and even perusing my study in medicine could not stop me from learning this passion.
