Arabic language for everyone: from zero to advanced level
From 26 € /h
I give lessons in Modern Standard Arabic, the modern standard version of the classical, formal Arabic language. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is used in media, education, literature, and often in various business contexts. I also often incorporate elements of Egyptian Arabic dialect into the teaching of MSA.
In my lessons, I aim to incorporate 4 main language skills: writing, reading, speaking, and listening (depending on the exact level).
Lessons are meant for both beginners starting from zero and those who already have some knowledge about Arabic language. Also, lessons are both for those who want to learn Arabic for themselves, for fun and for different personal reasons and those who need it for work. Depending on the purpose of learning the language, my approach can be communicative, linguistic, or a mixture of these two.
I like to include elements of history and everyday culture in my lessons, so that students can learn more about various Arabic speaking countries through their language classes.

About Me
Marhaban! My name is Matija and I am originally from Serbia. I obtained my Bachelor degree in Arabic language and literature from the University of Belgrade and Master's in Middle Eastern studies (specialization in Arabic studies) from Leiden University in 2019. In late 2024, I completed my PhD project on the textual practices of Egyptian Christian (Coptic) communities in Europe, hosted at Radboud University in Nijmegen.
I am communicative, open and flexible person. I love learning foreign languages, reading, traveling, and exploring new place and cultures. In my Arabic classes, I like to include elements of culture, history, and everyday life next to the linguistic content (like grammar, vocabulary, etc.), so that students can learn more about different Arabic speaking countries and their cultures and peoples.
