English, maths and study skills for learners with dyslexia
From 54.67 € /h
I have worked with students from KS1 to 3 in schools, and with FE and HE students, specialising in producing work programmes that are multi-sensory and thus work well with dyslexic learners, as well as those who have other related SpLDs.
My class lessons will be tailored to meet individual needs: all English work, all maths, a combination of the two or any of these with study skills, as required. The teaching and learning programme I work with you to develop will most certainly reflect your aims and enable you to make steady progress towards achieving these.
My goal will always be to engage learners meaningfully, using real-life examples wherever possible, and to help them explore different ways of working that really work and are memorable.
I am also an Exam Access Arrangements assessor and so can advise on qualification for exam concessions if this is appropriate.

About Me
I am passionate about working with learners of all ages to enable them to overcome any barriers they have to learning, whatever the cause of these. Building positive working relationships is key as is being able to listen just as well as guide.
I have worked extensively with children from the age of 7 right up to adults in their 80s on Outreach courses, in most recent years being attached to an FE college where I have also supported HE learners in receipt of DSA funding.
I love the challenge of planning bespoke programmes for my learners and of finding and/or developing resources to help deliver them, so that motivation is high (and remains that way!), fun is had and content is meaningful/useful and understanding is maximised through teaching methods that reflect learners' preferred learning styles.
If a student is preparing for formal examinations I am happy to not only help focus their studies on these but also to advise with regard to their possible qualification for Examination Access Arrangements or, if there is no diagnosis of a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD), I will gladly advise regarding the benefits and possible pitfalls of diagnostic assessment at various ages.
