About Me

Hello! My name is Katherine, I am a Canadian that immigrated to Serbia in January 2024 and never looked back! I specialize in tutoring adult, native Serbian/Slavic language-speakers at an intermediate level looking to improve their English for professional/academic purposes. I have also helped students with interview/conference presentation preparation and proofreading academic research papers/dissertations for English publication.

Since I am learning Serbian myself, I have a unique approach to teaching which uncovers the encoding error patterns unique to Serbian-speakers and allows you to understand, learn and apply rather than simply memorize English rules. There is a difference between learning a language and memorizing one, and with the right tutor, learning a language is rewarding and enjoyable.

I offer online and in-person classes, and take notes. I then synthesize those notes to create custom worksheets, homework, lesson plans, flash cards and widgets which target your most critical gaps - what helps each student is different. The more feedback you give, the more effective I will be, and the more you will get out of your lessons!
