With students I focus on the problem points that exist and I use the school method. I had a great first lesson with Mariela. What I found most important: - Mariela ensures you're comfortable. Her kindness and calm confidence work wonders for a self-conscious and nervous person like me. - Explanations! Everything is clearly explained, so you always know why you're doing something and how to do it correctly. - I loved the flexible approach: if you know exactly what you want, she'll help you achieve it, but if you're completely lost, she's ready to guide you, offer different options, and give you advice. No pressure, but lots of support. - I feel like Mariela has many different teaching strategies for various personalities and goals, which is awesome. Plus, she has a lot of cool vocal tricks up her sleeve! - It's obvious that Mariela loves both music and teaching, which is so inspiring. Overall, I had a very fun and productive experience and will definitely continue studying with Mariela!

Ritesh helped me prepare for the Boswell Beta VWO Wiskunde (Mathematics) B Exam, and he was very helpful in helping solidifying my understanding and teaching some topics I had not yet learnt and encountered while solving questions. He is passionate about Math and truly was looking out for my best interests and making sure I understood everything and the classes were productive and efficient as well as I tried to make sure I planned each upcoming class as much as possible so that we have a structure to follow. Beyond the classes, Ritesh also helped me over email with certain questions I had doubts with.

Our first lesson was an exploration of the feeling of holding the viola and the bow and of playing some notes pizzicato and with the bow. Maya was enthusiastic, patient and flexible in adapting to what I could and wanted to try. Her calm approach (letting learning sink in, allowing a process of getting used to the playing and learning) made me feel very comfortable and inspired!
