Hi, my name is Youssef.

I first picked up the guitar a couple of years ago, after i got inspired by guitar heroes like Clapton, Hendrix, Slash, Mayer.. I'm always on my journey because the learning never really stops. At the moment, i'm taking online lessons provided by the Berklee College of Music, and always looking to improve on the instrument.

These days, I really enjoy teaching guitar and helping other people experience the same creative joy that’s brought me so much pleasure over the years. Over the past year, I taught private lessons to students of all different skill levels in private, 1-on-1 sessions. And what I’ve learned over that year of teaching guitar is that in order to make consistent progress, you must have a well-crafted roadmap for both learning and practicing.

So with many weeks of work, I put together a program that is exactly that.

The program i made is inspired by the following 4 steps philosophy:
1. The right lesson at the right time .
2. With a clear outcome in mind .
3. Then apply it immediately, in a musical context .
4. And do it consistently until it sticks!

In just a matter of weeks you’ll develop a solid foundation in the core fundamentals of guitar, including:

However, what makes all the difference between a budding artist, a creator, a composer and finally a simple student learning but not progressing very far along the path, or getting angry, stopping after a few months of practice....c It's musical SENSITIVITY and the ART of letting yourself be carried, transported to finally bring good, real music.

In our approach to the guitar we do not only insist on general theoretical knowledge or specific to the instrument itself, ..., we try to forge in the practitioner a whole cerebral-auditory, emotional and kinesthetic instrumentation articulated around the contact with the instrument, understanding then apprehension and finally restitution (each has its own way) classical, Spanish music and finally (at a relatively advanced level...Flamenco).

Passionate about music from a young age, I have always been self-taught. Having always learned everything on my own, today I am able to understand the learning difficulties linked to lack of self-confidence or the difficulty of finding a good teacher. Today I am a very complete artist. I compose and I interpret. I would be delighted to share my passion with anyone wishing to get into the world of music.

2. Learn to play the qanun:

Study the qanun as a traditional musical instrument and learn about its history and role in Arabic music.
Learn basic qanun playing techniques, including maqams, combinations, orchestration, and ornamentation.
Develop your listening and musical expression abilities by learning the law and exploring different styles and tones.

3. Music Science:

Exploring music theory and its basic elements such as rhythm, melody, harmony and form.
Learn to read and write music, understand musical symbols and apply them to playing and composing.
Analyze famous musical works and understand the historical and cultural contexts that shape the music.

4. Maqamat:

Explore the world of musical scales and maqams and understand their essential role in Arabic music.
Learn about the main maqams, learn to distinguish them, and understand their distinctive musical characteristics.
Developing your abilities in listening and interacting with different maqams and applying them in playing and composing music.
Studying the musical styles derived from maqams and exploring the artistic diversity that can be achieved through them.

Note: Maqamat is considered one of the four pillars of Arabic music (instruments, genres, maqamat, templates), and requires extensive study and actual experiences in playing and listening. It is recommended to collaborate with experienced Maqamat teachers and make use of specialist music reference sources to enhance your understanding and develop your skills in this exciting field.
