My teaching style mainly revolves around being creative (you're never too old to learn the fun way)! I like to keep your language goals, hobbies and personality in mind when designing classes. And most importantly I pride myself in creating a safe space where you are kind to yourself and find your voice in English!

I am from Yorkshire, a county in the north of England known for its Roman and Viking heritage. At 18 I moved to Warwick in the heart of England to study Physics. Then I moved even further south, to London. During my PhD in Geoscience in London I started tutoring science privately. After my PhD I lectured for 1 year at University College London. In 2020 I moved to Potsdam and I spent 2 years as a researcher at the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences. In 2023 I started to return to teaching. I currently teach English and Yoga in Potsdam. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and helping them build confidence in English.

These courses aim to help anyone (of any level) to reach their goal in the desired language. I tend to favor learning by
- speaking the language in question,
- giving some homework
- setting ambitious but achievable goals

I also offer tutoring courses for children / adolescents to help them with their school program.
Classes can be done by Skype or on site.

I’m Agnes. I would like to support you in Spanish and English as a tutor! I am kind and patient. You can also ask me as many questions as you like!
I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Philology and a Master's in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies. I attended an international school in Spain for three years. I also lived in Latin America for a while. Therefore, I am fluent in Spanish and English, master the grammar accordingly and would like to share my knowledge.
I have already gained educational experience in language teaching at various language cafés. I have often supported my little sister in Spanish, English and German.
It is particularly important to me to respond to the individual needs of the students. I am open to creative, playful and dialogical forms of knowledge transfer. For me, the focus is on supporting and paving the way for a sustainable understanding of the required knowledge context and not just “memorizing”.

My first priority is making sure your student understands that I'm not extra, boring schooling. With my fifteen years of experience in mentoring and my commitment to understanding students' needs, we will accomplish this within our first meeting.
Often times, students need either support with structure or being intellectually challenged, but I offer both these outcomes. I look at previous assignments and assessments, and I use this data to understand what skills to focus on, accordingly with the standards of your country's education system (I'm familiar with the American and German standards). I also take into account, however, what exists outside of the data, including interests and needs not specified on paper. I tailor my lessons then to be worth everyone's time. I foster skills in research, organization, and writing so that students will continue benefiting long after our sessions. I utilize tools, such as games, and projects to take learning off the page.
My courses are aimed at primary and secondary school students, but I also take on working adults and college and graduate-level students as I support effective literacy at every level.
