I started piano at the age of 5, and music has been an important part of my life ever since. Classically trained as a violinist, I picked up another instrument named Erhu (Chinese violin) and became a professional performer. I am experienced in teaching both children and adults, from different cultural backgrounds. Also, I have been actively involved in both Western and Chinese orchestra since high school. Thanks to my years of experience in being an orchestra member and soloist, I am also familiar with orchestral music. As a humble music therapist, I am passionate about music and believe in the power of music. I trust that music is in everybody and I respect every student's individuality and thus tailor my teaching methods to develop my students' full potential. I started teaching in 2009 and most students put their trust in me when they first decided to learn an instrument. I also enjoy exploring the world of music with students with learning disabilities. The experience with Robert was great and I highly recommend him. The experience with Apprentus, however, was the opposite. If you want to try a single class, they charge you a "membership fee" that costs about the same as the class itself... If you want to avoid the membership fee you have to buy packages of 5 or 10 classes... These fees appear only once you have already been in touch with your teacher and you probably don't want to cancel your meeting anymore. Such hidden fees that appear only at the very end of the booking are anything but customer friendly... So my message is mixed: go for Robert, but not for Apprentus...

Daria is - besides being a great person - an extremely capable teacher who adapts herself to the capabilities of her students. I've been learning Russian from her now for a few months already and I have nothing but compliments for our classes. The content of the lessons is adapted to what is most important to me and she has an exceptional knowledge of fun facts/history about Russia and the language which continue to make it interesting and engaging. I would advise her to everyone who wants to learn Russian, be it from English or Dutch! :-)

Lessons with Saimi are incredibly fun and helpful. She's super funny and there's never a dull moment \⁠(⁠^⁠o⁠^⁠)⁠/ She gave me exercises to practice at home right away and she gives great care to show the proper techniques and methods of practicing. I knew beforehand that the road I'm on will be long and that's why I'm so glad that I'm taking it with Saimi!
