My primary goal is to engage and challenge my students by knowing their interests and catering the lessons to match them as student interest is essential to the learning process. My classes with.... young learners (2-8 yrs old) primarily focus on learning through play such as learning question structures by playing the card game Go Fish. In addition to some short exercises to practice what is being learned or reinforced. pre-teens and teens focus on activities geared towards their interests to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills as well as some games to break up the lessons. For example, if a student is interested in football and we are practicing reading skills that day, I might bring an article discussing Cristiano Ronaldo and his decision to leave Real Madrid. adults are catered towards what they are specifically looking for in English class. That could be focused almost solely on communication skills and error correction or following a English course book. all learners attempting Cambridge exams are focused on understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the student and helping the student improve in those areas through breaking the difficult area down and practice exercises.

I give my lessons in English. However, If I have a student that speaks French then I speak in French, but only to clarify an explanation that could be difficult to understand in English. I give lessons at my students' home or online. When I give lessons at my students home, I give copies of guides to work with and exercise sheets to put in practice what we learn during the lesson, and when I give lessons online, I prepare an interactive PowerPoint, also composed of guides and exercises, and at the end of each lesson, I send the PowerPoint to my students by email. I try to include in a one-hour lesson, reading, writing and speaking exercises, and as for the comprehension part, the students naturally acquire this skill through the lesson as I mostly speak in English.
