About Me
My goal as a music teacher now is not just to teach you "the right notes": I will do my best to make you enjoy music, discover instruments, be creative and curious, give space to your ideas and express yourself through play, using few words but a lot of practice. Each lesson will be a moment of reciprocal exchange of knowledge and ambitions, a time for everyone to learn from each other.
Education
After obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Genoa (Italy), in 2014 I won a scholarship and moved to Den Haag for a six-month internship at the Royal Conservatory. There, from 2015, I attended the completion in 2017 of the European Master “NAIP – New Audiences and Innovative Practices”, which enriched me with many new skills and a greater awareness of music and its role in our lives and in our society.
Experience / Qualifications
As a harp player, I am an open-minded and curious player: besides many years of pure classical repertoire, over the years I collected many different experiences also in contemporary music repertoire, focusing on free improvisation, electronic live performances, collaboration with composers and experimentation of all possibilities on my instrument. I was part of NOOS Ensemble (Italy), PYO-Palestine Youth Orchestra (Italy, Palestine, Jordan), GEO-Galata Electroacustic Orchestra (Italy), Jeune Orchestre International de Montecarlo and DUO Flauto & Arpa (Italy).
As a teacher, thanks to my Master Career, I am qualified to lead and teach different types of groups, from children to teenagers, from people with dementia to vulnerable groups. In 2017, I participated as an Artistic Producer in an intensive training program for El Sistema Greece teachers in Athens (supported by Impact Hub Athens) that analyses and develops the organization of music lessons for children in refugee camps near Athens.
I am now collaborating with the vibraphone player Fernán Mejuto Vázquez for the
Delivering our original "Around the World" music workshop format, aimed at children from different parts of the world living in NL, and based on our favourite method and philosophy of working through creative music making and collaborative composition processes, applicable to any type of group and community.
In addition to my teaching activity, I work as a Production Leader and Coordinator at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag, organizing musical events for students. This job has certainly taught me a lot about reliability, responsibility, flexibility and punctuality: all of these skills certainly characterize all aspects of my working life, certainly also that of a teacher.
