I am an absolute language enthusiast, who is as well lucky to pursue her greatest hobby at the university - I study to become a teacher of both English and German. I specialize in teaching mostly through conversation, during which I as well explain the main principles of grammar. Why so? I do not want my students to be overwhelmed by grammar and only get a minor option to speak and use what they just learned. This way of teaching as well allows me (and my students) to get to know each other better, which I find important.

I prefer eye to eye lessons to the ones through Skype, as I believe that it makes a great difference when you know your language partner in person, not only through a laptop screen.

About Me

As I have mentioned, I love learning and studying languages and I love to share this passion of mine with my students. I like students that are not forced into learning language, but rather are always happy to come and learn something new.

I am also learning Spanish, as I now live in Barcelona, so we can try to speak a little as well so that I learn something from you too! :)

Education

I am a university student of English and German with the focus on secondary education - so I am studying to become an actual teacher. From this September I will be living in Barcelona, where I will study through the Erasmus+ Programm.

Experience / Qualifications

I have been teaching German and English in a language school in my home country since early 2016 and I also teach in companies. I have successfully passed a B2 exam in both German and English, but my level of language is now higher, as I have attended multiple courses and study the languages at the university.

I am studying Architecture in Barcelona. I am French and German and speak English fluently. Having been in a French high school abroad for 10 years I know the importance of learning languages. I could help you learn one of these three languages, because these are languages that I have always practiced.

Hello, I'm Catherina and I'm currently studying primary school education. My focus in my studies is on the subject area of German studies as well as teaching German as a second language. In this regard, I have already gained some experience as I taught for 2 months in Mexico at a German school abroad (Colegio Aleman) and found my passion in this as well.

Course description:
The course is aimed at all primary school students of all levels who would like to learn German or English as a foreign language or who would like to take private lessons. I will adapt the structure and content to the individual needs of each student. In general, the focus in my lessons is on practical subject content and lively learning through fun and motivation. Topics can also be linked to the children's hobbies to increase their interest in learning languages.

I always like to joke and say that life is too short to learn German, but honestly it depends on the teacher you have and how much you enjoy the lessons! I think that as long as you feel good and motivated and have a person sitting next to you who says positive words to you, you can manage to expand your expertise in a short time

With me, you have a friend with whom you can have a coffee or go to the beach in your free time. I am very open and communicative and want our lessons to be more than just dry theory. I bring my personality to the lessons so that it remains interesting and vibrant for both of us!
