I am studying Mathematics at the University of Cambridge (graduated my bachelor's degree with highest distinction in June 2023, I will start my master's in October 2023) and systematically obtained >90% in mathematics and physics.

I am patient and do more than just help with homework. First we examine together whether the problem is general or there are just a few specific questions.

For some specific questions, we can probably solve the problems with some extra lessons, for example in the run-up to exams or a big test to cross the i's and cross the t's.

For larger problems such as study method problems, we will have to opt for more structural tutoring in consultation with the parents/student (can be once a week/2 weeks/month, for example). I don't have a magic wand, but if the child is motivated, we can really achieve a lot.

Online tutoring is possible, but I prefer more traditional methods: I sit next to the student and we work with pen and paper, with or without the parent nearby (some young people feel calmer if the parent stays nearby, others find it which is embarrassing; I'm also a stranger to the parent, so I understand if you want to stay close). I prefer as little screen time as possible, I can show examples on the computer, for example we can make graphs and calculations in wolfram alpha or I can provide geometric animations in geogebra.

Looking for extra help with English at school? You've come to the right place. I'm happy to help you with all your questions and guide you in practicing the subjects you find difficult. Are you doing really well with speaking, but do you feel like writing is a bit less successful? Then we'll work together on fun assignments to improve your writing skills. So whether you find everything about the subject a bit difficult, or certain subjects such as writing, listening or speaking skills: I'm happy to help you find the way that suits you best to make progress in this. I adapt my lessons to the level and learning style of each student, so that you can achieve your goal as well as possible.

If you have specific questions about your schoolwork or if you have trouble with English at school, it is best to use the material you receive at school in the tutoring as a guideline. I can then supplement this with more assignments and material that suits your level.

I myself went to a bilingual high school and studied English at International Baccalaureate (IB) level. So if you need help practicing for a Cambridge or IB exam, that is also possible!

Study guidance/Tutoring

English doesn't have to be a stumbling block. With a little extra help, you can make much faster progress. In my coaching, I work with students from university (Master's and Bachelor's), universities of applied sciences, intermediate vocational education (MBO), pre-university education (VWO), senior general secondary education (HAVO), and pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO) who face challenges with grammar, reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Exam preparation

Prepare for your final English exam (VMBO, HAVO, or VWO) with confidence. Together, we'll practice past exams, discuss common mistakes, and I'll teach you smart strategies to better understand texts and formulate sharper answers. This way, you'll know exactly what to expect and you'll feel confident about your exam.

To speak

Many people know the rules of English quite well, but find it difficult to translate that knowledge into a fluent conversation. In my lessons, you'll practice exactly that. We'll work on pronunciation, sentence structure, and fluency, but above all, on having the courage to speak. With targeted feedback, I'll help you speak English with greater ease and confidence—in any situation.

Pronunciation

Want your English to sound more natural? With a few practical adjustments, you can significantly improve your pronunciation and intonation. In these lessons, you'll learn how to form sounds correctly, use natural rhythm, and avoid typical "Dutch" mistakes. You'll soon notice that your English sounds much more natural.

Grammar

Once you understand how it works, English actually becomes much easier. In my lessons, you'll learn the rules in a comprehensible way and immediately apply them in conversations and exercises. This way, you'll learn not only what's correct, but also why—and that makes all the difference in how natural your English sounds.
