Online or 1-to-1 German classes in Worthing (West Sussex)

I am an experienced German teacher, who taught for the last 5 years online and 1 to 1 lessons for a language centre (Brighton) The lessons are individually tailored, we will work on all 4 skills: speaking, writing, listening and reading. Lessons will be tailored around your individual language needs.
We work usually with a book from A1 - C1 and then with media (news articles and materials/videos from the internet). Lessons will be a mixture of reading texts and then answering questions or discussing the topic, listening exercises and free speaking. You also can read books (easy reader) or bring your own materials to the lessons. I teach grammar in context with texts, not independently. But students will develop in time a concept of the various elements in a sentence (pronoun, verb, preposition, adjective, noun, adverb etc) and get a clear picture of sentence structure (main and subordinate clauses and placement of verbs). Still, the main focus will be on conversation, students will immerse in the fascinating world of German words and expressions, doing role plays and practicing day to day situations. Developing not only their language skills but also their fantasy and improvisation skills.

I started playing Violin as a 6 years old kid in Switzerland and was so fascinated by the training, sound of the instrument and musical activities, that I made a career out of it. Studying on a BMus at SAMP (Swiss Academy of Music Pedagogics) and graduating with an Advanced Diploma in Performance. I then went to London to study a PDOT at the Guildhall School of M & D.

I was teaching in the UK students of all ages, preparing them for ABRSM Grade Exams and organising also student concerts/events which were a lot of fun. In 2010 I taught at the Edward Said Conservatory in Palestine, which was a different kind of experience. It involved besides music also social engagement, helping teenagers to focus their energies onto creating music rather than being angry about their social/political situation. Learning an instrument gives really a chance to refocus energies in a creative way which can have besides being enjoyable and inspiring also a therapheutic value. I have played a lot of chamber music, (on youtube) and recorded also a music video, me venturing into various other musical styles, from fiddle music to rock and pop to metal (Serpentyne). I think it is important that students develop their own style, improvisation and playing off score is as much part of the lesson as learning to read music and understand/appreciate already written works. But creative freedom is a very important concept in my lessons , transferrable to other areas in life too.
