About Me

I am very enthusiastic and passionate 19-year experienced Biology Teacher in international programs like IB, AP, A and AS level, IMAT. I have been certified and official IB SL and HL Biology teacher and official AP Biology Teacher. I have also been Extended Essay supervisor for many years. I am both an IB Examiner and AP Reader. As an examiner, I marked many paper 3 components and internal assessments from all over the world each May exam session. All my students that I have been working in these years have got good grades over world averages. The other side of IB and AP Biology teaching is to be able to use the technology effectively and apply some statistical applications, especially in extended essays and internal assessments. It is really proud to see how much my students have improved themselves in those ares, as well ass biology background.

As for the online lessons, I am very good at using online taching tools very effectively so my online teaching is as good as face-to-face one. I recommend you to give it a try.

After completing my undergraduate studies in University of Ankara, I got my master degree in Biology education between 2002 and 2004. My master years had been spent half in Bilkent University Ankara and half in IOWA State University, Graduate School of Education, where I have got once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as teaching and learning in USA High School classes, preparing unit of works with the experienced teachers and academicians. In those years, I had a chance to study many international programs like IB, AP, IGCSE and US Curriculum. Since 2004, I have worked in the best leading private high schools in Ankara and Istanbul in Turkey. From September 2024, I will begin teaching in an international school in Netherlands.

Need help with math and science (physics, chemistry, etc.)? As a 33-year-old civil engineer, I'm happy to help! I'll learn at your own pace, using plenty of examples to illustrate the material. I have years of experience teaching both simple and complex subjects.

The lessons run as follows. First of all, together we look for the student's biggest stumbling blocks. These can be related to the subject matter as well as to the study method. From there, I continue to work at the pace of the student and encourage them to ask as many questions as possible. I also give them tips and tricks, and improve their working methods where necessary. During the lesson I give many examples to make the subject matter more interesting and we solve exercises together. Once the student has mastered the exercises from the lesson, I give some more challenging exercises to also test on the deeper understanding of the subject matter. In this way I try to optimally prepare the student for his / her test or exam.
