About Me
Every day, I strive to become a better musician and person. Since the pandemic, I am recording that process and sharing it on my YouTube Channel in the form of recordings (classical and jazz) as well as vlogs. I love learning in general, and so I have taught myself to record, to edit videos and audio tracks, and to refine that craft along the way.I love sharing my passion for music, for piano, for singing, for life and I aim to transfer that energy to my students. Seeing them grow and overcome themselves is a-ma-zing and such a privilege. Every student is unique and needs tailored guidance in order to reach their full potential. Therefore, I adapt my teaching method to the student as best I can. Helping them develop their technique, broaden their musical knowledge and taste, and let them experience first-hand how consistent work leads to mastering a skill, are the main three pillars of my approach.
Education
Master of Arts in classical piano (summa cum laude) - Royal Conservatory of Ghent (2017)Master student sponsored by Fulbright - Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (2019-2020)
Experience / Qualifications

Ableton Live/Sound Design/Composition and music Theory/Mixing
As flash education is the new trend on the web, I try to identify myself as someone that does not take pride in giving "tips&tricks" classes rather to build toghether a path towards nolt only the understanding of the musical concepts, but towards their discovery.
Through the use of Ableton Live I will cover music theory and it's appplication to the digital and analog world, exploring electronic and acoustic music, providing by time to time free tools and subsequent explanaition on how to use them, to build not only an in depth knowledge, but an efficient workflow.
Having thaught in universities, it is clear to me that the path to learn cannot be a series of discontinued classes. For that reason I spur you to send me a message and organise up to 60 minutes of consultation, so to craft the ideal path to you. Whether is understanding of music theory ( Which I will refer to during classes as black magic ), or understanding all the steps and knowledge that are needed to start and finish a track.
The classes will be on zoom and at the end of it I will provide you the recording of each class so that you can keep track of whatever we did at all times. Including after we will be finished :)

Saxophone lessons: Enjoy becoming an all-round musician (EN, NL, HB)
Enjoy becoming an independent & all-round musician!!
My aim as a Saxophone & music teacher is to give you the ability to develop skills that will make you enjoy "music-making" and love exploring all kinds of songs/musical pieces. Also, I give you tools to be able to cooperate with other musicians.
The methods I use are focused around goals that I create together with each individual student (and/or parents). Our goals are based on both the student's passion & musical desires together with the technical needs to make these desires sound! (control over the instrument, reading music notation, music theory, Improvisation, composition, ear-training and more). Music is a powerful language that everyone around the world can understand, but not all can speak yet...
Music-making involves Joy, curiosity, self-expression and a feeling of being a part of something bigger than yourself!
Practical Info:
- Normally, lessons take place at my location in Amsterdam. (call to discuss other options)
- I work with both kids (from age 8/9) and adults, (total) beginners, amateurs & semiprofessionals alike
- I play & teach: Soprano, Alto, Tenor & Baritone Saxophones (Flute & Bass-Clarinet for beginners as well)
** FOR PARENTS **
- Music making teaches you about how to build long-lasting dedication & successful work ethics that can be implemented throughout life, in any filed!
- Music teaches you how to express thoughts & feelings and can be important for a growth of a child.
- Music is a rich lifestyle, and opening a child to that world is a great gift that a parent can give to his/her child.

Learning to play the piano is a wonderful and very diverse experience! Every beginner has to go through it in their own special way in order to realize one's personal aspirations. But sometimes, unfortunately, due to a lack of guidance and direction, the learning process may cause some difficulties followed by unexpected disappointment. If you are in need of said guidance, if your learning experience is not that captivating or satisfying anymore, you don't have to turn away from your dreams of playing the piano - I will gladly help you to get closer to them in a fun and enjoyable way in our lessons!
After finishing music school with the highest grades twice as well as a number of additional courses (improvisation, composition, orchestras, etc.) and after honing my teaching skills for more than 4 years, I can safely say that my lessons may prove useful to any type of student with any kind of given objective at hand. No matter your age, your previous experience, or background, you just need to name me your personal goal, task, or even a dream - be ready to dedicate a little time and effort, and I will take care of all the rest. Piano Lessons for Beginner-Advanced Levels in Classical and Contemporary Styles
I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons to students of all levels. As a pianist 12 years of teaching experience and over 21 years of playing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the course of learning piano. If the student is interested in a more serious approach, I can also guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams. I also have successful experience preparing students for entrance to conservatory and for various competitions. Recently, my students have achieved highest marks in the ABRSM exams as well as prizes in competitions. We also have a class concert for interested students twice per year. I am happy working in both a relaxed and serious approach, we simply need to discuss the objectives of the student.
My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance/Music from University of Minnesota and TCU-Fort Worth, TX, USA. My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as soloist with orchestra (also as harpist), and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio and look forward to meeting new students.

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.
I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.
