Good Morning, My name is Olalla. I am currently 26 years old. I am a graduate in English Studies from the University of Alcalá, a degree that I finished in 2018. Currently I have just finished a Master in Teacher Training (English specialty) at the Rey Juan Carlos University. I consider that I lack life to learn all the languages that I would like to know. For me, knowing languages brings you very close to people from different cultures and countries. Hence, thanks to my career, almost seven years ago I began my journey in the world of education. During these seven years I have not stopped working and what started as sporadic work has become the profession of my life. I started when I was 19 years old to give private classes in French, English and Spanish language at all educational levels until last year my work career took a big turn when I started giving extra-curricular classes to a group of sixth grade English and a group of initiation into French with children between the ages of six and twelve at the Sagrada Familia school in Pinto, of which I was a former student. This year I have also been a French teacher in primary and secondary in other schools. The experience has been so pleasant that I cannot imagine working something other than language teaching and learning. I adore children and adolescents, as I believe that they can teach us much more than we can believe. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
