About Me

I have been a music writing teacher for over 30 years (including 14 years at the CIM in Paris).

Learning how to write music allows you to hear it better, to situate your role as an instrumentalist according to the musical style played, to know how to find your way in the sound space...

I developed my own teaching method: I drew inspiration from all the teachers I met during my studies, from all the groups in which I played, from all the music I listened to, analyzed and of course written to establish my lesson plan. The international diversity of students who have benefited from my teaching, and their enthusiastic reactions, seem to indicate that I am on a good path to transmitting past and current knowledge of music writing.

Composer, arranger and versatile orchestrator, I specialize in writing for medium and large groups (combo, big band, symphony orchestra).

Winner of several national prizes in composition and orchestration (Trophées du Jazz de la Côte d'Azur, Sacem), I compose and arrange music in different stylistic fields (Symphonic Jingles for Radio France, TF1 – Direction, arrangements and compositions for the big band ZÉPHIR, the NISS'ARTE Big Band and the it-big BAND – Adaptations for the Théâtre Montansier and the Patrick Cosnet Company – Various arrangements for SMAÏN, Jean-Claude BORELLY).

What I'm offering in my classes is not the boring and traditional way, which is too slow, boring and not always effective.
My methods always had great results on my students whether it's their first touch of the guitar's strings or they are struggling to improve their levels, or they're advanced and they want to move the next level of complex and fast pieces of music and playing like the great Al di Meola, Paco de Lucia and the great other musicians.

I put always my self in a challenge to make my students achieve their goals no matter hard it is the situation in their minds, I always make it easy and smooth to be done through different strategies and methods.

My name is Jason and I've been playing guitar for over ten years. I studied music at University in the UK and went on to complete a Masters in Music Composition. After finishing my studies, I turned my attention to live performance. Over the past few years I have been working primarily as a session musician and guitar tutor in and around the London area, UK. As well as teaching guitar I have performed in jazz ensembles, accompanied vocalists, hosted jam sessions and recorded with various artists whilst also occasionally working in musical theatre and improvisation projects. I now reside in Luxembourg where I teach guitar.

Although I specialise in jazz and Brazilian guitar, I teach a wide range of styles including pop, rock, blues and classical. Whether you're just starting out with guitar or you're a more experienced player, I can help guide you in the right direction with your practice. As well as teaching guitar, I offer tuition in musical theory and improvisation, as well as music composition.

Hello everyone, I offer gypsy jazz lessons with or without music theory and for all levels.
Together we will work on the accompaniment (swing, bossa, waltzes), enrichment of chords, improvisation thanks to the study of triads, arpeggios, scales and also by picking up solos in order to acquire vocabulary.
I have a lot of experience in this field because I have the chance to play and record with the best of the style, I will be happy to share it with you.
I also enrich my lessons with tablature supports made on Soundslice. Possibility also to take lessons with others.
I have been teaching since 1996, I created my own school in Paris and published a guitar method.
