I am here to help with this process of your child learning in a language other than their mother tongue.
They will learn oral English appropriate for their level /age through speaking, activities and games.
I can also help reinforce what they learn at school so that they feel more comfortable in their classroom environment.

I love teaching children and every day that I spend with them is just better. Children have few conditions, show them that you care and love them and they will give you their everything.
I always feel so proud when children learn something new and tell others about it...To see their smiling faces is EVERYTHING!
Recently a parent of a boy I used to teach posted a photo of him and said that he was trying to pick 'a purple lotus for Miss Dana'...He remembered my favourite colour. Another parent told me how her daughter had a dream that I went back to Shanghai to see her and stayed forever...I had a bad day but my heart was overflowing.

In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. Nowadays, English is indispensable in society and is therefore compulsory in school. Would you like to learn English for work or study? Or are you going on holiday to a country where English is spoken? Perhaps your child is struggling with English at school and you want to give him or her extra support. I'd love to help you!

I am bilingual Dutch-English with a lot of speaking and writing experience, speak English daily with my Australian partner and enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. In addition, I have a lot of patience for people who have difficulties with different parts of English. I can offer help with sentence structure, grammar, pronunciation, reading skills and vocabulary practice, in order to give you or your child more certainty and guidance in the language.

With students I focus on the problem points that exist and I use the school method. If, for example, it appears that a solid foundation is still missing, I can jump in and offer support in learning this.

For (young) adults who are not (or no longer) in school, we will mainly focus on vocabulary, correct sentence structure and grammar in the beginners' lessons. However, I also quickly start speaking, reading and listening. With advanced students I focus on, among other things, speaking and listening skills and advanced word use by holding conversations together, watching documentaries and reading books.

For starting students I use the books of "English for Everyone" and expand my lessons myself with extra materials, such as tailor-made exercises.
