Hello, my name is Beril , a young student living in the North of Germany (Hanover, Lower Saxony). I am currently studying teaching degrees in order to teach English and geography at secondary schools. I have always loved the idea of helping and motivating people. Since I am a careful, active and reliable person, I enjoy being around of kids and do my best to be there for them. Furthermore, I did many internships in primary and secondary schools over the past years and I am very glad having decided on this path of career. I also had spent three months in England before (Bournemouth and London) and moving back again there would be perfect for
me. I prefer to go out of my comfort zone and to face new challenges. Therefor, I would like to teach lessons abroad.

I did my A-levels three years ago and now I am studying teacher degrees, being in the sixth semester. I will have done my BA thesis at the beginning of year 2020 in English.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

I have done tutoring with young children with disabilities in French and in English in different subjects (history, mathematics, french grammar, english grammar, etc). French is a hard language to learn even for us french. My class is meant to teach French without getting bored. I’m confident that anyone can learn French independently of age, everything is about method. For infants and preschool children French can be introduced through games, enriching their vocabulary. For children and teenagers I like to do classes mixing both games and more conventional teaching (grammar). This way they learn and practice french while never getting bored. I want French to be fun.

Setswana is a rich, rhythmic language spoken in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Belonging to the Bantu family, it closely resembles other languages in the region.
I have found learning Setswana through several terrific teachers, thorough textbooks and daily life enriching.

Growing up in Botswana, speaking this beautiful and intricate language, or at least making an effort to do so, can transform the way you live in Botswana.
I have taught semester-long regular beginners Setswana lessons to children aged 7-12 and adults, with strong emphasis on understanding grammar by breaking it down into “formulas” for how to form tenses and sentences. I teach these and vocabulary through a mix of traditional explanatory lectures, practice exercises and creative games, accompanied by study techniques I have found very useful for learning foreign languages. I have also worked as a trained English tutor, and study linguistics at university, both of which have shaped me to better understand and teach language.

Each class will consist of grammar formulas (eg: basic conjugation in the present tense: linking pronoun [for the human noun class group, for example: ke=I, o=you, o=him/her, re=we, le=you plural, ba=they] + “tla” [as in “will”] + verb), some vocabulary words, spoken or written exercises or games to go through together and longer practice exercises to build independent confidence.
