I am a London session based drummer and percussion and now teach online remotely from my studio to your home kit!

You don't need any special gear yourself - you don't even need a drum kit! We can work on coordination and timing through clapping and drum pad exercises.

About Me

James grew up playing drums and percussion, culminating in performances with the Halle and National Youth Orchestras in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Opera House. Now, as a an active London-based session player, recent engagements have included sets at Glastonbury Festival, the Barbican centre and the Tate Modern.

Bringing together this musicianship with his passion for health and wellbeing, James teaches drum kit, percussion and facilitates workshops for disadvantaged groups.

As a teacher he works on behalf of Music in Offices, Guildhall affiliated Drumworks and keeps a private practice of dedicated students. He is an open-minded, honest and hard-working individual seeking to continually improve the quality of creative music making as a tool for positivity.

The lessons are face-to-face and personalised according to the level of experience and the musical style of the student. The presentation of the information is clear and accompanied by practical examples.

I'll show you how to:
- use Ableton Live,
- program and control synthesizers and virtual instruments,
- use microphone and sound card to record your voice and your instruments,
- process sound with effects (plugins) and optimize it for diffusion (mixing and mastering),
- make your songs, from start to the last details.

I am well versed in most audio software (Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Logic Pro X), using all of these in a professional setting for over 5 years.
